The Debate (6); why having a house first is better than having a car

Being a house owner or car owner is always a sign of relief for most individuals. Having a house and getting a car is part of one's archievement in life. Now the question is, which should come first, house or car? It's another week of the debate contest organized by @sahmie, and i'm here to support the motion which says that "having a house first is better than having a car" with the following points of mine.

- SELF-RESPECT
You'll he regarded and respected in the society if you choose to get a house first before going for a car. Here in my country, having a house of your own comes with pride and it's one of the biggest archievement in one's life. People see those who choose car first over getting a house as senseless people, so getting a house first is better.
Come to think of it, when you get a car first, where do you intend to park the car? In your landlord's compound? It's not always appropriate, besides you'll be envied by your landlord especially if he doesn't have one and the envyness can surely lead to death. Be wise.
- GENERATING INCOME
Do you know you can be generating income from your house? Yes you can. Let's say you build a 3 bedroom flat with self-contained either 2 unit or so. You can actually rent out those self-contained and make money for yourself. You can as well save that money and get yourself a car. You see why I'll always choose getting a house first?
- FREEDOM IN LIFESTYLE
So many individuals living as tenant do face numerous restrictions imposed by landlords. So getting a house first will help you avoid all those restrictions and giving you freedom in lifestyle and choices. How can someone be restricting you from getting fresh air when it's 8pm in the evening, giving the rules that all tenants should be indoors once it's 8pm. Most landlords too don't allow kids play anyhow in their compound. I'm sure you won't be able to cope with that. So get a house first before a car to avoid all these.
- AVOIDING HATRED AND ENVYNESS
Getting a house first especially as a family man will really help overcome some temptations and attacks from other tenants. Let me briefly share experience on this. My uncle who got married some year ago is living as a tenant despite the advice we gave to him to build a house first. He's seriously facing physical attacks from his co-tenant. His wife is 7 months pregnant and one of the tenant that's a woman envy's my uncle's wife till the extend of fighting her everyday.
Her plans was to get rid of the baby because she was unable to conceive after 7 years of marriage, you can see the hatred and envyness. I thank God so much because my uncle's wife finally put to birth and they're out of that compound for safety purpose. Why i'm i bringing up this? If he was living in his own house, would he be facing such thing? No, you see why it's better to get a house first?

You're very much right. What are you made of if you have a car yet you don't have a house of your own. People will keep on talking. It's good to know having our own house other than getting a car for ourselves brings freedom to our lifestyle, gives us that self respect we deserve, and avoiding done unnecessary disputes between tenants. This is absolutely right they is a lot of envy in some landlord's house. You can imagine the insult and roles. That is why is good to build your own house before going into marriage. My dear having a house is far better than car. Wish you success in this contest.
