The Debate (no.25); Day school is better than boarding school

"Had i known, had i known". This expression was used by one of my neighbour who preferred sending his kids to boarding school. It's a story I'll like to briefly highlights, but before then, i'll like to extend my greetings to @sahmie the organiser of this debate, my readers and my co-debators.

Just as the name implies "day", it's a school were students leave their various homes on a daily basis to school premises, get inside their classes, receive lectures then after the closing bell is rang, they'll all head back to their comfort zone for that day, then prepare against tomorrow academics.

In boarding schools, students have their own special apartment inside the school premises, it's called Dormitory or hostel. They prepare for academics from their hostels, after the closing bell is rang, they go back to their hostels not home.

Remember the "had i known" expression I talked about earlier? It's one of the reasons why I'll choose and send my kids to day schools over boarding schools. As a child too, I'll prefer my parents to send me to day schools instead of boarding in the campus. What happened to one rich man living in our Neighborhood that made him said "had i known" has taught me a lot.

There lived a wealthy man who has a lovely and United family with 2 kids, a boy and a girl. After their primary school level, the went into secondary school. At this point, he switched them from day students to boarders. He wanted a good and free life for them, so he thought boarding in the school hostel is the best.

The barely visit home even during holidays or weekends. Those kids grown wild and exposed to the things of the world. The boy was 15 when he was in ss2, while the girl was 14 in ss1. They indulge in all sort of ungodly activities such as following bad gangs, not responding to studies and other sexual activities.

There was no one to scold or caution them because it was a free life in the campus. Their father in his own part will be proud and be convinced that they're studying because he has been calling to check on them and also encourage them to study hard. Little did he know that his kids have turned to something else. To cut the long story short, it's sad to know that the boy was into occultic group and the girl was a popular and well-known prostitute.

They were expelled from school because of their ungodly acts. The news reached their father in no time and he screamed had i known!!!!, after that he went into coma. Even the Bible says that parents are in good position to look after their children not the school. Children grow wild when looking left and right and no one to shout at them. So with this little explanation of what happened to my neighbour, I'm sure I'm able to convince but not confuse you that day schools is better than boarding schools.
