The Debate (no.20); Help the society, Teach how to fish

My heartwarming greetings to my admirable steemians, my co-debators and to the organizer of this friendly debate in person of @sahmie. Today, we're given two options to pick one and convince our readers why our choice is the best. I'm here to support the option "Teaching how to fish".

I know most people will prefer fish to be given to them always. Why? Maybe they resources needed to learn how to fish isn't available at that particular moment. Being given a fish one or two times is understandable, maybe you needed the fish to sort out one problem or the other which needed urgent attention. How about nagging for fish all through your life without having the mindset of learning how to fish yourself?
Let me bring in this brief illustration. Let's say you're a wealthy man and you have friends who aren't rich talkless of being wealthy as you are. All day of their life they'll be nagging and asking fish from you and you don't hesitate in granting their request. One day, they called regarding the same request and boom, you got angry, furious and overtempered. There must be a reason why you're that angry, maybe you're tired of giving them fish.
So the question now is which is better? Giving fish or Teaching how to fish? Like i said earlier, i prefer teaching how to fish rather than giving with the following points of mine.👇🏾
- Independence
There is joy in living your own life without depending on anybody for your needs and wants. We are humans and we may one day feel disturbed if we keep giving fish, so i think teaching how to fish is the best here because he or she will learn, master and use it to earn his or her own fish and live independently.
- Decision making
"A beggar has no choice" they say, this is not mockery but the true fact. Anybody who depends on someone's else fish won't have any good decision to make regarding his or her lifestyle, career and academics because is not his or her money. We can help people like this pursue their dream profession by teaching them how to fish.
- Contributing to the growth of the society
A tree can't make a Forest but two or more can. What I'm i trying to say? One wealthy person can't contribute to the growth of the society or economy as a whole, so teaching how to fish will help set up buildings that will contribute to the welfare of the society such as healthcare centre, schools and charity homes.
Let me bring in this life experience. There lived a wealthy man who established and own so many companies around the city. He had only a son and throughout his life on earth he never thought his only son how to fish, instead he has been giving him fish, he got use to it thinking that's the only way to survive.
After some years, his father died leaving all the wealth, legacy and business for him to manage. How will the young boy build his father's legacy when he has not been taught? Just 8 months later, the businesses collapsed to the extent of returning back to poverty stage if not for his uncle that intervened. Now ask yourself, what would have happened if his uncle didn't come through to rebuild that legacy? This point alone should convince you but not confuse you that "Teaching how to fish is better than giving fish".

Undoubtedly, teaching to fish is better than giving fish. It depends on the time and situation. But there is no doubt that a permanent solution is better than a short-term convention. good luck

You have nailed this contest with explanations that are unique and straightforward. We won't give you fish which is money but we will show you how to get the money...... That's the way forward.... Giving fish may be temporary but showing them how to fish will forever be permanent. Thanks for the invite
That's exactly what you said to me when i asked you of money once, i later told you that i don't want you to give me fish which is money that i prefer you teaching me how to fish, and here i am. Fishing on my own on Steemit.
