The Debate (5); why small families are better than big families!

Am glad to be here to participate in this contest; a debate on big and small family.

Family is like the basis of our existence. Every one of us came from a background and a family. No one fell from the sky as a terminator. A family in my own understanding is a group of persons bound together by blood. We have our small families known as our nuclear families and the big or large families known as our extended family.

The small family is made up of the father and mother and children while the big or extended family is made up of father mother, children and others such as aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, nephews, our grandparents and etc.

I’m this debate am saying that the small family is better than the big family with this point of mine:

• There’s a loose knit between members of the small family than the big family. This is due to the small number of persons hence they able to relate with one another better because they are few in number. It’s more like the fewer the better unlike the large family with many people. That knitting is mostly absent because of the crowd.

• Theirs is a better flow of communication among members of the small family. We all know that in every relationship, communication is key. The members of small family are able to have a better communicate flow with one another due to the small number of persons.

Hence there’s ease of communication flow from one person to another and this also helps them bond better compared to large families where there could be hitches in communication flow because it has to pass through so many people and this may even be lead to mis conceptions and misinformation in trying to pass across infos which will also breed problems and contentions for the family members.

• Small families have more peaceful relationships or coexist more peacefully because of the close knit among the members unlike big families were we see fighting, quarreling and all sorts of misunderstandings.

• There’s ease in resolution of problems that arises in small families. The members can sit down all together at a time and iron out their issues unlike big families where it’s even difficult to gather everyone from wherever they are to iron out issues.

• Small families require less money to care of its members. The income coming in is easily apportioned according to the family budget and everyone is easily taken care of unlike most big families which lack fund and some of the other members are uncared for and are probably left to fend for themselves due to lack of finances.
