The Debate (no.31); Use of public transport is better for air control and environmental protection.
Hello friends we use transport to go from one place to another in short time as it gives us fast time. Although easy to transport, these transports have harmful effects on our environment. I am going to participate in a debate today on public transport vs private transport. Thank you @sahmie for organizing this beautiful debate on this series.
How does public transport reduce carbon emissions vs private cars?
Excessive car use in our world is bad for the environment. In my opinion, public transport reduces carbon emissions compared to private cars. More cars burn more fuel and this fuel emits more carbon. In my opinion we can reduce fuel consumption by using public transport by reducing the use of private cars and reducing harmful carbon emissions. By using this public transport, we can get many benefits like reducing traffic congestion, reducing fuel consumption. We can use public bus and train for that.
What influences people's transportation choices?
We love public transport for many reasons. Many people prefer this mode of transport to reduce costs. Many people use this public transport even if they have their own car. The maintenance cost of a private car is high and buying a car requires a large one-time amount. Considering the environment we should use public transport to reduce fuel consumption. To keep the environment healthy we should reduce the use of more cars and lean towards public transport. By using public transport people do not have to worry about car parking.
Can technological advances make private transportation greener?
Yes thanks to technology many transports are now eco-friendly. Let's find out some more reasons. Electric bikes or private cars that can transport one or two people are now used by many people and are not harmful to the environment. Increasing the use of vehicles that do not use petrol or diesel as fuel can make our environment greener. Our alternative thinking and use of personal bicycles to protect the environment can give us the safest environment.
How can the government sustainably increase the use of public transport?
Governments can play the most important role in using sustainable public transport. For example: If the government ensures the new railway line and train movement according to the schedule, many people of our country will be interested in trains. Because train journey is much safer. If government implements proper fare policy in every public transport then people will be encouraged to use public transport at affordable fares. People need to be propagated that the use of extra cars destroys our environment and creates traffic congestion so public transport will reduce traffic congestion as compared to extra private cars.
If the government starts these projects I believe people will get interested in public transport and use public transport.
What social/economic factors influence transportation decisions?
Transportation decisions are influenced by many social and economic factors. They are affected when people's income increases. High income people are encouraged to use private transport. On the other hand, people with low income are forced to use public transport. Transportation decisions are influenced by population density. People use transit to get to their destination in less time so they use transport that takes less time and provides better facilities. Many make transportation decisions based on their lifestyle and preferences. There are many who are environmentally conscious and prefer to cycle or walk. So it can be said that transportation decisions depend on individual's taste habits and income.

You are absolutely right; a lot of cars have increased in our country, and a lot of factory mills have increased. Brothers from foreign countries are burning fuel in our country and producing products here. And foreign cars are coming to our country in large numbers; our Bangladesh government has put a huge VAT on the cars. Then people are breaking the law and putting many cars on the roads, which are not desirable and are a little influential. A family owns two or three cars, which congests our roads and pollutes the environment. And currently, many autorickshaws are seen inside the area and in the middle of the road. They are environment-friendly and good, but on the other hand, they are doing a little irregularity. The government wants them not to commit this irregularity. And the railway management of our country is getting worse day by day, but a few days ago I saw in the news that the railway management would be updated a lot. Simplifying and thinking of renewing the old railways, government launches, government cars, and government trains, if these things are used, the environment can be saved and the government will get a lot of revenue, I think.
