Long beans are vegetable crops that are needed by many people on this earth, where long beans are one of the farmers' income which can be said to be useful every day and time, most people grow long beans on their own land, as for several ways to plant them. These long beans are as follows;

How to Plant Long Beans

  1. Prepare the Land

You can adjust the land needed by long beans according to how many beans you will plant.
The more you want to plant, the more land you need. Do the loosening of the soil by hoeing the soil well. Then make beds where long beans will be planted.

  1. Give Fertilizer

Mix the fertilizer well in your long bean field.
The application of this fertilizer is done to prevent the attack of ureth larvae which usually attack the soil of the beds.
When finished, cover the beds using mulch to anticipate the growth of weeds that can make the plants lack nutrients.

  1. Plant Seeds

For best results, buy high-yielding hybrid long bean seeds at a farm store.
With this seed, you don't need to sow seeds. Soak the seeds in 1 liter of water that has been mixed with 10 drops of PGR auxin for optimal growth. When finished, make a hole in the soil with a depth of about 5 cm, then put the seeds into the soil and cover it. The seeds will sprout in 2-4 days after planting.

  1. Install Ajir

The spikes are long bean propagation areas, so the long beans will hang on the stakes and make it easier to care for and harvest, Install the stake when the seeds have started to grow to avoid injury to the plant roots due to the puncture of the stake. Usually tajir is made of wood or bamboo with a size of about 2 meters, Connect 1 stake to another using additional bamboo in one bed.

  1. Give Supplementary Fertilizer

If you plant during the rainy season, give MPK fertilizer that does not contain nitrogen, you can also spray micro fertilizers without nitrogen such as Primarin-B. If you plant during the dry season, you can use NPK 16-16-16 so that the growth of long beans runs optimally,
Fertilize after the plants start to propagate on the stakes at 10-day intervals.

  1. Get Rid of Pests and Plant Diseases

Long bean plants are usually susceptible to pest attacks such as caterpillars, seed flies, aphids, ground caterpillars, and whitefly. During the day, caterpillars often hide in the grass, so you must be diligent in weeding or cleaning the grass to anticipate these pests. Give insecticides active ingredients metomil or deltamethrin in the afternoon. Avoid spraying during the day because pests tend to hide during the day.

  1. Harvest

After 50 to 60 days after planting, you can harvest the long beans, Choose long beans that are not too old to harvest,
Harvesting can be done every day, do it every morning and evening.

That's a little lesson for friends and I as farmers' children so that we can give each other useful knowledge, for us everyday, hopefully friends can take a few lessons in my post, so from me greetings to success and greetings to the community admin especially
