Wedding ceremony in Denmark, wedding party in Poland

We got married in Kopenhaga, Denmark, as same sex marriage is not allowed in my country. Wedding ceremony was very cameral. Group of the guests included my mother and our the best men: my good friend and my husband's brother with his girlfriend.

Wedding party was made few weeks later in the centre of Kraków, Poland. We invited 50 guests: the closest family and best friends.
We were lucky to rent one of the best fine dining restaurants in Poland: "Szara Gęś w kuchni". It is located in the main square of Kraków and included in every gastronomic guide - from Gault&Millau to Michelin. Mamy famous people were eating here after us - from the Scorpions to Jerzy Dudek, but when we were making the reservation for our wedding, "Szara Gęś w kuchni" was just opening so the manager agreed to rent us for a lower price. Our wedding was the very first event in that place.

Greeting guests

The party started at 18.00. We greeted all the guests personally and the best men helped us to grab all the gifts. Every guest received the glass of the champagne.

The Meal

When everyone arrived and was properly greeted, the meal was served. Hot dinner included appetitive (carpaccio), truffle soup, goose as the main meal and rose dessert served in... Flames (yes, waiters were burning special sugar cloud which covered the dessert first).

The chef prepared also special version of the meal for our vegetarian and vegan guests.

Speech

Next me, my husband, best men and few of our friends made the speeches. It was funny and moving at the same time.

The must exciting was the speech of our two friends who are folk music singers. They presented for us some traditional Ukrainian wedding song (video below)

Surprise

I have prepared the surprise gift for my husband and invited the Gay Chorus Krakofonia which sung three wonderful songs. Video below.

The wedding celebration

As participating in our wedding celebration was not possible for many of our guests (it was in another country), we presented the video from that moment so everyone could be there with us at least virtually.

First Dance

We had very little time to learn the first dance but we managed to work it out somehow. Thanks to our teacher, Ania Makselan-Vieux, international swing dancer and owner of her own dance school, we managed to present the dance with elements of Solo Jazz and Lindy Hop.

Party

Finally the dance party started. We kept it in swing and jazz theme, enjoying live music presented by "Madame Jean Pierre" - called by prestigious magazine the best Jazz debute in Poland.

When people were dancing, some small snacks were served.

Gifts for the guests

Party ended at midnight. We said "goodbye" to every guest personally and gave them small souvenir to make them remember about this event - it was the CD with the compilation of our favourite songs.
