Hello, Good day fellow Steemians, I'm very happy to be a part of this platform. This happens to be my very first post on this platform, Steem Network and I'm profoundly grateful for the opportunity to talk about my favorite singer.
My favourite singer is none other than my AG BABY, ADEKUNLE GOLD.

HIS BACKGROUND

Adekunle Gold, born as Adekunle Kosoko, is a Nigerian highlife singer, songwriter and a graphic designer. He was born on the 28th of January 1987, into the Kosoko royal family of Lagos State, Nigeria.
His educational background entails that he holds a Higher National Diploma in Arts and Design from the Lagos State Polytechnic.

He gained widespread attention after releasing the 2015 hit single "Sade" a highlife cover of One Directions hit song "Story of my Life". Adekunle Gold who growing up was a keen music lover and was find of listening to highlife musicians, Ebenezer Obey and the legendary King Sunny Are. History has it that he was a dedicated member of his Church's Junior Choir, and his music career had already begun before he even clocked the age of 15. Having had a strong interest for arts and also graphic design, he went on to the Polytechnic to study Arts and Design of which he became more conversant with the design app, Adobe Photoshop. His flawlessness in graphic designs led to him being dubbed as the "King of Photoshop" after he had posted an edited Photoshop image of him hugging Tiwa Savage on social media platforms.

MUSIC CAREER

Before his rise to Stardom, AG Baby had owned a music band which he organized with his friends, then later disbanded from the group in 2014, eventually starting his solo career.
"Sade" which was his first single released on the 19th of December 2014, rose to critical acclaim and was nominated for the Best Alternative Song at the Headies 2015.
AG BABY released his first official studio single titled "Orente" through the YBNL NATION, a record label owned by Nigerian musician, Olamide, of which he had signed for on the 5th of March 2015. He later released his first studio album titled "GOLD" on the 18th of July 2016, which was a 16 track project with musical production from Masterkraft, Pheelz and B-Banks. This album upon its released , peaked to number 7 on the Billboard World. He has since released two additional albums, "ABOUT 30" in 2018 and "AFRO POP Vol.1" in 2020. His top singles include "Temptation" released 2014, Pickup (2015), No Forget ft Simi (2016), My life(2016), Beautiful Night (2016) , Before You Wake Up (2019), Jore ft Kiss Daniel (2020), Something Different (2020), AG Baby ft Nailah Blackman (2020), Okay 2021, IIWII (2021).
He has also received numerous award including wins in the Headies, City People Entertainment Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards and a whole lot others .

PERSONAL LIFE

In 2019, he made a turning point in his life when he tied the knot with popular music diva, "Simi", which he acclaimed he had been dating faithfully for 5 years.

The marriage is blessed with a daughter in May 2020, named Adejare Kosoko Deja. He reported in 2016 that he bought his first car, Honda Baby Boy, in 1999 for 450 thousand Naira. The car, he reported was crashed by his friend whom he had lended. He mentioned that he had fixed the car and sold it out for 400 thousand naira.
He has recently been involved with an infidelity scandal with celebrity diva Temilikan, who he has chosen not to respond to the forthcoming allegations.

WHY I CHOSE HIM AS MY FAVOURITE

The legendary Fella Anikulapo Kuti once said that "Music is a weapon". The ability to weaponize music is a trait that can help cure alot of psychological problems including stress. The kind of music Adekunle Gold sings blended with the purpose of his purpose of being a musician, that is , touching hearts, creating joy, and inspiring lives. The first of his songs I listened to was "Sade", a love song with a clear definition of attaining beauty in imperfections.
His song "Ire" is one of my favorites, a source of inspiration even in times of despair. The 2021 song "Okay" remembers me to prove tough to every negative situation I experience. His later song "iiwii" an acronym for "It is what it is", enables me to see beauty in negative situations.

I will continue to rate him as my number one, and hope that I get to do a music collaboration in future with him when I become a world renowned Disc Jockey and music Producer because his lyrics and flows are always in synergy , his voice is captivating and he serves entertainment on a platter of GOLD.
