FIRST BABIES OF THE YEAR!!!
We've got baby chicks on the homestead!
We had an amazing surprise this morning. All five of the eggs under the hen beneath our front porch hatched, with some amazing chicks popping out! This hen went broody on some Ozark nest egg gourds, which were not going to hatch, so Pinkie-Pepper gave her a small clutch of fertilized eggs. Sure enough, it worked and her broody tendencies were put to work. Now we've got the next generation of egg-layers on our homestead! Check them out. Enjoy the photos!

they are really cute. I once was visiting a friend who had baby chicks and when I tried to pick one up I was attacked by the mother. It was pretty scary as I didn't know that chickens could be that aggressive!
I can't tell if these are actually chickens in your photos though.
