19 March 2020 - Happy furry dog in the street

I met this dog in the street trotting down the dusty main drag, going towards the center of town from the border crossing in Los Algodones. I couldn't discern an owner nearby so I am not sure if he was a pet or a street dog - but I must say he looked well fed and reasonably clean. Behind him, just some 100 m down the street was the river, Rio Grande, running right by the border crossing. That may well have been where he had taken a bath. Either way, he was a we t dog and he definitely smelled like one.

And he was not shy about licking my face. Nor was I about scratching him.

And yes, he did have a very furry tail.

After our chat, he continued trotting purposefully down the street, his tail held high. I hope tasty treats awaited at his destination.
