My favorite vegetable farm, how to cultivate it and the best cultural practice that can be done to improve it's abundance

Hello to everyone here. It is yet another great, interesting contest on the pipe line. An interesting contest indeed, because it's about our favorite vegetables. Vegetables are very important to both animals and humans as well. Growing of vegetables is a source of income in my community. So we grow different kinds of vegetables. But to tell you,we are making a lot in our farm. With this,we don't always depends on State for some jobs, because we are getting much benefits from our farms.

Vegetables does a lot of things to us. And the vegetable I want to talk about is lettuce (salad). Lettuce is one of my favorite vegetable. It is simple and easy to grow it. We uses a period of two months in growing lettuce. It has seeds that are very small. It is a vegetable that gives vitamin k to our body and vitamin k strengthen our bones. Lettuce is one of the vegetables we grow in my area. We use that as a source of income. Because farming is a commercial work to us.

When it comes to the growth of lettuce,we always make sure that, the soil gets back it's lost nutrients after harvesting on a particular land you want to plant it. You get your seeds, and get a small piece of land, where you do direct sowing for four weeks (month) time before you do transplanting. The seeds should be store in a cool place. The seedlings will take about a week going for it to emerge. In the first four weeks, you have to take good care it,so that, the plant can get a little strength before you transplant. The seed should not be deepens into the soil,it should be about 1/8 to 1/4 deep. So when it gets to four weeks, you then do the transplanting.
The time we do our transplanting,is when the
seedlings gets about four leaves, where you now plant it separately about 12 inches for the lettuce to get much air. You have to make sure that, you don't deepens the root part into the soil when transplanting.

Our garden is very big. It's about 10 Hector of land, which are more than 40 people farming on it. We share it in a form beds,so one person can entitled to 8 beds.

Watering

After transplanting, you have to make sure that you water it but not much water. We water our own every evening, some early morning. We have a tap water in our farm which everyone is using in watering. it can't grow well while there are weeds,so you make sure you always weed in it. So we even farm in the dry season, since we have pipe born water in our garden.

There are a lot pest/diseases that distract the growth of vegetables in our place. The like of snails, rabbits, earwigs and unknown diseases. But for the rabbits,we sometimes uses traps for them. And we uses agro chemicals for the diseases.

Harvesting of lettuce.

We normally do harvest our lettuce a month after transplanting,so all we use two months in growing our lettuce. When it's get time for harvest,we call those who buy our vegetables for resale for them to come over. They harvest it with the roots, but some people do cut off the roots. So it's very simple and easy to grow it.

With the above explanation is what I know about my favorite vegetable. I want to say thank you to everyone here and @steemFarm-market community and it leaders and thank you for reading my post 🙏.
