WORKING HARD FOR THEM, BUT WE'RE GETTING THEM!
Some really nice fish tonight!!!!
In my opinion there has only been one day of active spawn for the 2021 carp season so far. Since them the rain and cold temps have really put a damper on things. The carp are just waiting for their opportunity though, so they are slowly positioning themselves in the shallows and can be found, if you know where to look. I took a young friend and novice bowfisherman out tonight, and we managed to get five. I nailed the first three, and after a malfuntion with his equipment I let him use mine to harvest the last two. The fish were mostly in the "small pond" by the little creek. I had my suspicions and guessed that it would be a good spot to try. Sure enough, we found four sitting in the shallows on the south side of it. Each fish took him three shots to finally hit, but at least they mostly sat still and let him figure out his aim. I'll be trying a pickle on my three, so we'll see how that works. Waiting on warmer temps mostly, but it's still starting. Enjoy the photos.
Nice big fish!! How about smoking them too?! Like smoked salmon!?
That's on my to do list! Great idea!
maybe he doesn't know how to sight your bow yet so he missed twice. In his third turn, he also did it right.
He also missed with his bow, so it is just because he is new at it. He is learning though, and was still successful. It was a lot of fun!
He learns to shoot easily because you are good at teaching him.
What a wonderful and successful fishing, enjoy it
This is enormous.
You've always had the best of a few weeks.
