Covid-19, I think it is fair to say that this is the event of the year, with close second the Bitcoin halving in just over 9 days!
Question: Is it fair Governments LIE?
Definition of Fair: An honest expression that has the purpose to be ethically correct. Ethics are subjective, what is fair to you, might not be for someone else.
Answer to the Q.
That governments lie, are deceptive, cheat, steal is nothing new under the sun, but probably different for each one of us due to geographical differences.
I live in Spain, a democracy known for his imperialism and expansion drift. Many different cultures and beliefs in a relative small country.
Our government is known for his lies to the public, and with Corona in the world, you can see it even more.
When looking at the numbers here, it is one of the most deadly viruses that have ever existed. But is it actually as bad as they want us to believe?
I don't work in a hospital, but my best friend is a radiologist at Palma Medical University. She is working every day with Covid patients and people who have the symptoms but didn't have previous health issues.
Over 80 people that died in that hospital the past weeks are all confirmed deaths due to the virus. But she confirms that over 70% of them were already given their last sacraments before Covid was a household name. They probably have died anyway, with or without COVID.
All numbers that are spread are fake and don't represent reality. Not saying its not a horrible virus, but..
Why they make thing worse than it actually is, remains a question to me. And I feel its always better, to tell the truth than let people guess. In people's minds it always becomes even worse. This way they are not preventing panic, but the opposite.
Answer: No I don't think it is correct to lie and spread fear.

I think C19 is the event of our lifetime. And yet people seem to be more and more relax about this threat and consequences which can affect our communities around us.
Goverments do not want us to believe it's bad. They mostly want to protect their ass from legal lawsuits. And they were downplaying this coronavirus for very long time. Now it's so obvious to me, that everywhere in western countries new narrative is being promoted: that's all under control and we're past the peak. That the worst is behind us.
I wish that would be the case.
I agree. I believe that it's actually much much worse than numbers are showing. So it seem that we're completely seeing things very differently.

I also think that it is because I barely watch any news and just go with what I see in my own area, friends, community.
Also, media has a big role in this. I dont think we see it completely different, I am just a little bit more sceptical when it comes to government decisions and their claims. (Might be because I binchwatched ´Madame Secretary´)
