The language that will be used to read the stories to the children must be done with great expressiveness, it must be something that surprises, that when listening to it the child wants to know more and more about the subject.

The child must feel the need to even want to take the story to the adult so that the adult reads a story to them, who risks opening the story, because they want to interpret.

A story is a magical world that helps to see and interpret those images that are often part of the child's day to day, of the everyday and simple things in life; The child learns to speak or paraphrase, when he listens with the examples of the adult, the way in which he expresses himself, in the way he speaks, that is what the child likes, a parent, an educator is like an idol for them, and it is for this reason that instilling a love of reading guarantees the learning of speech and appropriate language.

Stories are like new doors that open to give:

  • Love.
  • Warmth.
  • Understanding.

In reading, in the feedback between the sender and the receiver, there is a coupling and understanding of what you want to reach and understand. A reading opens the way to new learning, not everything in stories is an fiction, there are parts of a person's life, summarized in fragments of scripture.

How to stimulate language through the story?

Stories are very important tools, but even when telling a story we can implement other strategies that help language stimulation come to life.

We should not be so basic when reading a story, let's make this learning something meaningful.

Read the story and have a palpable image.

When we read the story to the child in a surprising way, the figure seen in the story magically appears.

For example:

  • If you are talking about Little Red Riding Hood, have on hand a Little Red Riding Hood doll.

  • If you talk in the talking dog story, have a toy dog on hand.

While narrating, showing some of the figures that appear in the story, the child will be able to touch them and make this story more real.

Part of this strategy is for children to tell the story for themselves, look at the pictures in the story, and feel the toys alluding to the story presented.

How much power is there in an illustration to express language, when there are mixed emotions, when the child can make the story much more real?

The stories bring out the imagination, make dreams come alive. Reading, broadcasting and receiving are important, we just have to make children understand that stories are just that, that fictional characters are just that, and that we must live in reality to be able to understand it as such, but to imagine is part of the learning process and that cannot be limited.
