My Local Health Service

I live in a small village in North Aceh Regency, Aceh, Indonesia. In my area of ​​residence, there are many health services for the local community. And this health service facility is named PUSKESMAS (Community Health Center). Almost every sub-district in North Aceh has its own PUSKESMAS.

Likewise with the district where I live. We also have the PUSKESMAS, which is located on a side street, Tanah Luas sub-district. And this PUSKESMAS is not too far from my house. Only takes about 5 minutes to reach this Health Center. This Community Health Center is pretty good and clean. And many of the people who are unable, who live around this location, seek treatment here. Here, we can also seek treatment free of charge for people who have a health insurance card. And when the covid-19 pandemic, doctors and nurses at the Community Health Center, also gave a lot of counseling around, and warned the public to always keep clean, and forbid the community to gather, to avoid covid-19.

In this Community Health Center, there is also an ambulance that is used to carry patients, who are in critical condition in order to get intensive care at hospitals that have adequate facilities. And there is also an Emergency Unit, for patients who have accidents and need quick treatment.

However, there are many shortcomings that these health service facilities have. Sometimes the service is very unsatisfactory. In addition, the health facilities they have are also inadequate. Many people complain about the poor health services in the area I live. The attitude of nurses who are not friendly and their service is not good.

As a civil servant, I also got a health insurance card. And actually, I can use it for free treatment at the nearest PUSKESMAS. However, due to inadequate services and facilities, I have never used this free facility to go to the PUSKESMAS.

So when I or my family member is sick, we prefer to go to a doctor. One of our family's chosen doctors is Doctor Lukman. Doctor Lukman opened a practice in the Lhoksukon area, in front of the bus terminal. He is the Head of the Public Health Center in Lhoksukon. From my home to the practice, it takes about 20 minutes. The place is quite far, but I prefer treatment here.

Doctor Lukman began his practice at around 5 in the afternoon. There are so many patients. In fact, many patients from far away, come for treatment to this doctor's place. If we want to seek treatment here, we must call his assistant first to make an appointment. Although I had to wait a long time, because of the large number of patients, but I was very satisfied to go to doctor Lukman's practice.

The service is very satisfying, the doctor is also very friendly and very good at socializing with children. So that pediatric patients don't feel afraid. In addition, the practice is also very clean and spacious. The medicine given here is also good. However, we have to pay a fairly expensive price. Expensive but suitable to the facilities we get.

That's a condition of the health care facilities in my town. Hopefully in the future, it can be better than now.
