dark doodle (i don’t know what to call it)!!!

Hello!!! I did this drawing awhile ago and forgot to properly post it ! It’s one of my favourites that I’ve done, so I’m glad I just now remembered, haha :’)

Not entirely sure what to call this, it just has a lot of elements combined, maybe anime inspired? I’ve been watching and looking at a lot recently, so I’m sure it’s influenced me in some way!

I really really love the colours I’ve used and how well they work together, I am super proud of how this looks!!!
I feel like it’s more comfortable and maybe more of a habit to immediately try and see the negatives in things, especially when it comes to art- so I always try and make a point ( to myself ) to like what I draw and be proud of myself, especially when things take so long to draw. We are our worst critics, I suppose :’)

I always have issues drawing both eyes remotely similar, so drawing the little X instead of another eye turned out better than I thought haha.

I think combining a bold focal point with little sketchy background bits looks pretty cool!

The initial sketch, just figuring out the layout and details I want in the drawing.

I decided to go with a very dark red background, as it is something I rarely do! I wanted to do something slightly different, but not too far out of my comfort zone with this drawing!

Adding the white really makes it stand out !!! I love adding a noise texture to the colouring I do in my drawings.

Final bits of colouring before adding highlights, I’m so pleased with the out come, and I love adding eye bags to the eyes whenever I do drawings, hence why I included many eyes in this hehe.

I think the white highlights were a good idea, it makes it look a bit more lively and eye catching??? Yeah :)
