"Trippy Disco" crochet blanket

This blanket design is my own, and the first time I have created a crochet item completely from scratch, from conceptualisation through to pattern writing, and now to the actual creation of the item itself. I like my art to be functional 😊

With this particular project I am creating individual squares, all identical, which I shall join together at the end to make one large blanket. It's a very fun, colourful blanket, inspired by my love of disco and all things retro and 70's. I love geometry, symmetry and repeating patterns, and the optical illusions they can create when put together. My work is very much inspired by patterns in nature. I love working with my hands, and crocheting is very meditative for me.

Progress is slow, but the end result I know will be so satisfying. I look forward to showing you my continued progress with this through to completion!
