Can Man City Retain The Premier League Title After Defeat To Spurs?
The Premier league has started and whilst teams are starting their campaign well, other teams are rather beginning slowly.
In my previous post I said the first game and last game are always unpredictable.
Yesterday we had teams like Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool start their campaign strongly.
With Manchester United scoring 5 against Leeds, Chelsea scoring 3 against Palace and Liverpool also scoring 3 against Norwich.
Today Manchester City started an important match against Spurs which was the beginning of their title defence for this season and just like last season they were unconvincing against spurs.
Like any typical pep Guardiola team they started the first half well with decent amount of pressure
Grealish displayed a great piece of skill by beating one of the spurs defenders but could not get the defender to foul him in the box but was fouled just outside the penalty area.
Gundugan got on that one pretty nicely as he tried to score from a pretty decent position but could only lift the ball above Hugo Loris.
But this was not their best chance in the first half; thier best chance came when Fernandinho tried his best to get on a header but could only head it wide away from goal.
Fernandinho tried his best as Loris was also getting on the ball so he actually did well by getting to it.
But surprisingly they did not have a single shot on target in the first half.
On the other hand even though City controlled the ball and looked to keep possession, Spurs still looked dangerous on the counter as Son caused some problems with his shots just going wide of the posts.
In the second half, City started well trying to look for the opener but to no avail.

The first goal came about as a result of a counter attack when Steve Bergwijn managed to slip the ball through to Son but he still had a lot of work to do because he was outside the box with the ball.
He managed to deceive Nathan Ake by cutting onto his left foot and then doing what Sonaldo does best and put the ball right past Ederson.
After that Son goal City took control of the game as they tried to get an equaliser but all their efforts still didn't yield any results.
Grealish got some pretty decent chances but could not make good use of them as Ferran Torres too.
Kevin De Bruyne was introduce into the game late in the second half but he could only get a few shots on target from quite far distances and Hugo Lloris did well to save them.
Manchester City has have lost their first game of an opening season and its not surprise but they can still come back and win the league as City can do that.
Son set some pretty nice records as this is his fourth year scoring against City in the Tottenham stadium.
Thanks for reading.
I think manchester city time passed
