The match, which was administered by Zambian referee Gianni Sikazwe, witnessed a major crisis at the end, which began with the end of its activities before the end of the legal number of minutes.

In its statement, the Confederation of African Football said: "With regard to the African Cup of Nations match between Tunisia and Mali, which was held in Limbe on January 12, 2022: The Confederation of African Football will collect all necessary reports from the officials of the match."

"The African Union is sending these documents to the relevant bodies," the statement added.

"At this point, Kaveh is not in a position to make further comments for the responsible bodies to indicate next steps," he explained.

What happened?

In the 85th minute, the Zambian referee announced the end of the match, but after about a minute and a half he reversed his decision and resumed the match.

In the end, the security forces intervened to protect the referee from the objections of the players and the technical staff of Tunisia.

This is in addition to the fact that in the 79th minute, Sikazwe was referring to the fourth official by calculating five minutes of overtime.
