Max Scherzer, 37, is a free agent for the first time since he last signed a seven-year, $210 million contract with the Nationals during the 2014 season. The right-hander has won a World Series in Washington and two Cy Young Awards with two no-hit, no-run games and 20 strikeouts with a 2.75 ERA and 1,699 strikeouts in 1297 innings. Finishing in the top five of the Cy Young voting and a third place finish in this year 2021.
Pitcher Scherzer, who struck out 3,000 on September 12, 2021, became a member of the Hall of Fame.

Después de tantos rumores este fin de semana, se ha confirmado que Max Scherzer está cerca de un acuerdo por varias temporadas según Jon Paul Morosi de mlb.com el domingo 28/11/2021

Max Scherzer, de 37 años, es agente libre por primera vez desde que firmó por última vez un contrato de siete años por 210 millones de dólares con los Nacionales durante la temporada 2014. El diestro ha ganado una Serie Mundial en Washington y dos premios Cy Young con dos juegos sin hit ni carrera y 20 ponches con una efectividad de 2,75 y 1.699 ponches en 1297 entradas. Terminando entre los cinco primeros de la votación del Cy Young y un tercer puesto en este año 2021.
El lanzador Scherzer, que ponchó a 3.000 el pasado 12 de septiembre de 2021, se convirtió en miembro del Salón de la Fama.
