I usually receive by mail notifications about new publications of a company in Spain, one of my old university colleagues works there and on one occasion she sent me an invitation by mail for her newsletter. Today I received a notification with some intention of giving ideas for Christmas gifts, just in case I had not bought them yet, but I did not expect to find a book called "The Art of War for Children". Certainly I have seen adaptations for children of all kinds of books, I will even say that in my childhood the first book of this type that I saw was of some Catholic catechists with a "New Testament of the illustrated Bible for children", even I who am not very religious, I must admit that it was a good idea and it was a well designed material to attract the attention of boys and girls in terms of the teachings they intended to impart. In this case, it is a classic work of military thinking and strategic thinking in general, I have seen adaptations and interpretations of this book by Sun Tzu for managers, administrators, mentors, salesmen, politicians and much more. But this is the first time I have seen an edition designed for children, that surprised me. The book is in Spanish and I don't know if the publisher will have versions in other languages, that would be interesting. By the way, I don't know what you think, but I would find it strange to give this to a child, it may be useful, but I would still find it strange. Suelo recibir por correo avisos sobre nuevas publicaciones de una empresa en España, una de mis viejas compañeras de universidad trabaja allí y en una ocasión me envió una invitación por correo para su boletín de novedades. El día de hoy me llegó una notificación con cierta intensión de dar ideas para regalos de navidad, por si acaso no los había comprado aún, pero no me esperaba encontrarme con un libro titulado "El Arte de la Guerra para Niños". Ciertamente que he visto adaptaciones para niños de toda clase de libros, incluso diré que en mi infancia el primer libro de este tipo que vi fue de unos catequistas católicos con un "Nuevo Testamento de la Biblia ilustrada para niños", incluso yo que no soy muy religioso, debo admitir que fue una buena idea y era un material bien diseñado para atraer la atención de niños y niñas en cuanto a las enseñanzas que pretendían impartir. En este caso, se trata de una obra clásica del pensamiento militar y del pensamiento estratégico en general, he visto adaptaciones e interpretaciones de este libro de Sun Tzu para gerentes, administradores, mentores, vendedores, políticos y mucho mas. Pero es la primera vez que veo una edición pensada para los niños, eso me sorprendió. El libro está en español y no sé si la editorial tendrá versiones en otros idiomas, eso sería interesante. Por cierto, no sé que opines, pero yo encontraría raro regalarle a un niño esto, puede que sea útil, pero igual yo lo seguiría encontrando raro. en la reseña del libro, en el sitio en español original me gustó la parte final de la presentación que le hacen:
