8 DO'S AND DON'TS OF MAKING COMMENT

Welcome to my blog, for this blog, I will be making content on the type of comments attitude that we should imbibe for an effective flow of communication.

DON'T

  1. Don't make a generic, harsh or rude comment.: Generic as in one-word comments like Nice, Good, amazing, inspiring, keep it up, kudos. Make a concrete comment relating to the post made. It is annoying.

  2. Don't spam the post by leaving links: Leaving links that are by no means related to the post made can be very annoying and should be avoided except it is a necessity and cannot be exempted.

  3. As a writer, do not leave your comments hanging. Always respond to the comments you see on your feeds. Don't hurt their feeling by ignoring their efforts to engage in your blog

  4. Don't lecture the writer on the content they have made: Writing, to be honest, is hard, so would be disheartening to work hard and post on your blog only to have someone tells you that you wrote rubbish. If you have to correct, use polite words to make your corrections or if possible, DM the person about the mistake made.

DO'S

  1. Make Constructive Comment:
For a community to grow in bounds and unity, we as members have to learn how to leave constructive comments. There's joy in making a post and seeing that people actually read it. When they see comments, they get encouraged to write more knowing that they are not alone. Make at least two-three sentence comments.

  2. Make out time to check the comments:
What do I mean by this? You must not be online every single time, after all, Steemit is likely not the only thing you do every day. Assign time to come online, check the comment, respond and engage in other posts as well.

  3. Respond to the comment on your post: Don't be the type that ignores peoples comments on their blog, that is not a good habit. Prove to your readers that it was not a mistake coming to your blog. Answer questions if any was asked, provide meaningful gratitude messages like, thank you for engaging in my blog.

  4. Make out time to also engage in other persons blog: Do unto others as you want to be done to you. When you encourage others, they will also be encouraged to do the same, so don't feel bad if your blog is always empty of engagements because you didn't the same.

Thank you in advance for visiting my blog, I hope you got something valuable. I appreciate the engagement so far.

Well said @yuceetoria
your engagement guide will surely coming handy and help each blogger in this platform if carefully followed. But the reader and author has their own roles to play as you said, it is encouraging when you see that someone took their time to go through your post, it is also heart warming that the author of the article you read appreciates your comments.
Nice article you have here 🤗

Most times I check my notifications not just for payouts or votes but for comments on my posts. Commenting on other people’s work helps to encourage some of them to work harder

It really does help because I hate making a post to see it empty if both upvotes and comments. Thank you for visiting my blog.

Everything you said here is absolutely correct.

I like that part where you said don't lecture a writer on his/her post, some people form the habit of writing rubbish on people's post and that is very bad.

Absolutely, some persons are very fond of making rude comments, correcting the writer on what to do and not to do. If we can adapt this change, then we will be more united.

Exactly, i wish that people would agree to this.

Wow, this is the best so far, I agree totally with you, engaging in people's Contents gives this inner happiness that assures one of the impact made.

Truly, steemit is not all about getting vote but also learning for improvement, when one comments it shows the writer that his/her effort is appreciated.

Commendable dear.

Steemit teaches a lot, if we are ready to learn. It is not just about writing, it is more about engagements and improving engagements. Thank you for visiting my blog dear @christnenye

I love this post because it is so nice. Engaging in people's posts sometimes means a lot to the creator. Great post.

Thanks for putting this up dear, truly the importance of engagement to a community, writer and the entire platform cannot be overstated. I hope many will learn from this amazing write up, and improve in their quality of comments because it's always annoying after putting up an effort to make a post, someone will just leave a Spam comment like nice, thanks etc, it simply shows that the person did not read that post. Continue to be active in our community we appreciate you 💕

Thank you so much Ma. You are one of the few person I look out for in posts and comments.
