How to make gum from local materials
Introduction
Hello fellow campus students I hope we are all doing fine especially as assu strike is still ongoing.
I know that this strike has caused a lot of distractions and disturbance to our academic calendar.
I hope we'll be able to keep ourselves busy through various productive activities.
Today I would be sharing with you an educational post on how to make gum with common materials which can be found at home.
How to make gum
In today's post I'll be sharing with you how to make gum from locally sourced materials.
The process of making gum requires very few materials which could be found locally within the neighborhood.
The process of making this sort of gum is very easy as it requires you to be creative.
The two main ingredients of making the gum are petroleum and geo foam.
Geo form is a light weight material made up of an expanded polystyrene or rather various chemical substance.
Geo foam is used for various engineering projects just as bridge construction, paraplate used on roofing and so many others .
Geo foam can be fun in the inside the box of new electronic devices as a form of protective coating.
Petroleum which is a everyday materia used in running our vehicles, engines, generators and many other hence it should not be difficult to source.
The process of making gum.
Step 1 : put a piece of Goa foam in a plate.
Now this plate should be made to either plastic or iron as they are more resistance to the chemicals which are emited from the mixture of both.
Step 2 : Add petroleum
Pour a little fuel into the plate this starts a chemical reaction as the fuel starts to melt the goe foam.
Step 3 : Wait for 2 minutes
After about two minutes the chemicals from the mixture should have liquidized geo foam.
Step 4 : Stir the mixture
After the goe foam has been asbored we stir the mixture evenly till it gives us the jelly like substance we can see above.
Conclusion after step 4 since this is a local gum you have about 15 minutes to use it before the gum drys out.

Now in order to prove that this sort of gun really works I will be using the gum fix two broken objects, the first being a plastic bottle and the second being a leather shoe.
Fixing a broken plastic
Incase you ever have a broken piece of plastics that you want fixed and you are in a bit of hurry and maybe other form of gums have failed.
You can try this form of gum.
From the image we can see a perfecly good bottle without any fault.
Inroder to show that the gum works I have decided to cut the bottle
Apply the gum generous on both sides of the cut bottle and wait for 3 minutes.
After leaving the gum for 3 minutes, put the two pieces together and hold for 1 minute after that the two pieces should be firmly I place as seen above.
Using the gum on shoes.
The gum can also be used to mend spoilt shoes.

Applying the gum
Next we open the shoe and apply the gum generously on both sides. And leave to dry for 3 minutes.
Shoe is fixed
After about 3 minutes you join the two parts together and hold firmly for 1 minutes.
Conclusion
With that being said this brings me the end of my post I hope you all enjoy this creative way to making gum and I hope you can always try it whenever we have a broken piece of item.

Yoo bro this is really creative and nice. I've never known about this. I would definitely try it tomorrow morning when I go out to fuel my car. I happen to have a few things I want to glue together so this would definitely kill two birds with one stone
