What We Need to do to Make The World a Better Place

Introduction

Hello everyone, I would love to start this post by saying Happy Independence to my fellow Nigerians and wishing every steemian out there a happy new month. I also want to thank every CampusConnect member for being with us through thick and thin and for promoting steemit in our own little way.

In the world today, we as people see and notice alot of wrongs in the society. We complain about the wrong doings and frown at it but attimes we fail to realize that we could also be part of it in our own ways. Let me make an instance of the political aspect of change.

In a country where elections are being held to elect a president. People are being advised to come and cast their votes but due to reasons such as insecurity, rigging and other forms of electoral violence they develop apathy towards the electoral process. You would see a situation where the voting areas. Some of us also have this habit of voting for who comes from our tribe or religion in a bid to enjoy favouritism. I can't really blame those who are scared to vote as violence on voters is very common but those who care about their tribe more than the process. They end up electing monsters who have no care for the citizens and who end up enriching their pockets with our hardwork.

Alot of people preach that there is alot of corruption and bribery in the political system but we practice this same bribery and corruption in our businesses and in our day to day lives. So what makes us think that if we were put in those positions we won't still practice the same bribery and corruption. Only when we can stop these acts in our lives gradually till we can rid the world of it. There are many other things with which we can stop individually so as to better the world and another great example is littering. If I consume something for example a biscuit and I drop it on the floor, a passerby would also do same and before we realize it the whole vicinity would be filled with dirt but if we consume something and dispose of it properly so many would follow suite.

Conclusion

I'm sure most of us might have already known all these things by now but it is not only by knowing but also practicing them. We can change the world just by practicing what we want to see in the world today. If you start doing some exceptionally good things today there are alot of people who would follow you and gradually the world would be made a better place for our children.
