The Dairy game//How I spent my Friday 4th March2022 by @stephen45
Hello Friends, how are you all doing? Hope everyone is doing well.
Today was a very wonderful day with so much good things attached to it.
The student Union Government Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture umudike hosted the National Association of Nigerian Students today on a press conference here in the great Citadel of learning.
This conference was held by the NANS Abia state Zone at Alahaji Lima Hall at Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture umudike.
The NANS Zonal Representative Abia State Chapter Comr. Franklin Emeka who spoke with great passion for Nigerian Students.
Stated his griviances towards the sufferings of Nigerian Students in the hands of the Federal Government and theAcademic Staffs Union Of Universities {ASUU}, while making an open speech on this Day stated that we the students have always been the victim on any strike embarked by the Union.
This strike which has been a major setback to so many students whom in one way or the other wants to further their academics to upper levels has been kept on hold by the strike and negotiations ongoing between the Academic Staffs Union Of Universities and Federal Government.
He also made it know that why few Nigerian Students are suffering from this strike is that majority of our top Academic Staffs Union Of Universities leaders and top Government officials children do not actually acquire their education here in Nigeria, that is one of the reasons why the strike is always intensive once they embark on it.
Furthermore he expressed his anger on students been denied of going for their National Youth Service Corps {NYSC} , because of over age due to so many strike issues in the country which was not caused by the students, rather a misunderstanding of agreement between the Academic Staffs Union Of Universities and the Federal Government.
Finally he closed his speech by sending a message to the Federal Government, stating that the National Association of Nigerian Students are giving just one week to resolve the strike.
Issues between the FG and the Academic Staffs Union Of Universities or the Nigerian Students will go on a massive protest Nation wide which will not stop until the strike is been resolved.
Lastly he thank the Students whom made themselves available to attend this very conference believing that our voice must be heard.
This was actually how I spent my day and once again am so happy to hear from my fellow steemians today.
Thanks.
