Body types

Hello my steem family. Today's post would be about the various body types we have, how to identify yours and possible ways to manage yours.
Have you been struggling to lose weight or can't explain your weight gain. Maybe you feel you're too "small" and want to put up some weight but no matter what you eat nothing shows for it? Then this post is definitely a gold mine for you. 😋😋

WHY DO WE HAVE DIFFERENT BODY TYPES?

Naturally, the body every human is different. Even a set of twins that came from the same ova(egg) in their mother are different. We eat different meals, have different activities, live in different environment all our lives growing up so we definitely cannot have the same features. Coupled with the genes we receive from our parents. Everything involves an interplay of genes and environmental effect. Hormones our body produce play a very important role in how we turn out physically and also psychologically. Oversecretion and undersecretion of these biological molecules have different effects.

THE STRUCTURAL BODY TYPES

Extensive research has shown me that there are 3 body types.
The Ectomorph
The Endomorph
The Mesomorph
These body types are never purely expressed in any human being. Rather features of each are expressed in variable proportions. They explain Why we are built the way we are, What diet would be best for us, How to lose weight, and also how to exercise effectively. The body types are also subject to change depending on your apetite, natural ability to gain or lose fat, and metabolic activity.

THE ECTOMORPH

Ectomorph
What can you observe from the above image?
Yup! we share the same thoughts. He's very skinny. This is a major of this body type. They're usually lean, majorly tall (depending on genetics), and have very little body fat. They have very fast metabolic rate. Which means that no matter what they eat and the time of the day they eat. There is also no weight gain. Crazy right??🤯
All is not easy for these set of people because as funny as it sounds they want to put up weight and possibly build muscle.

THE ENDOMORPH

Endomorph
These set are the most common you see. They are regarded are "obese" or "overweight". This kind are always called fat. The have soft and flesh bodies with low muscle mass and high body fat. They put of weight easily. Even the slightest sight or smell of food makes they gain weight. Imagine buying clothes and in a few months they don't fit anymore Sad right?🥲😑
But then some if them can't help it due to hormonal defects which I'll discuss soon. It could be a mild or extreme depending on how you manage it.

THE MESOMORPH

This is famous Arnold Schwarzenegger's category

images (6).jpegArnold in his prime

Schwarzenegger began lifting weights at the age of 15 and went on to win the Mr. Universe title at age 20, subsequently winning the Mr. Olympia contest seven times; he remains a prominent figure in bodybuilding, and has written many books and articles on it.The Arnold Sports Festival, considered the second-most important bodybuilding event after Mr. Olympia, is named after him.

He's the idol of bodybuilders worldwide.
These guys are considered "lucky". They are also almost always fit. It is very easy for them to gain and lose weight. Also building muscle is a walk in the park for their kind of people. They have a short(gene dependent) and stout stature. They are usually very athletic too.🏋‍♂️⛹‍♀️🤼

HORMONAL EFFECT ON BODY TYPES

Hormones are wonderful but then you know as the saying goes that too much of everything good becomes bad. They determine how fat is distrubuted in the body either equally, in the midsection, in the pelvic/lower body. It also explains why results vary when dieting and exercising and time frame for result to show.
They are grouped into 4 types

  • Adrenal

It is controlled by hormone cortisol which makes fat distribution in the midsection and lower back dominant. The hormone utilizes protein and fat in the lower body but stores in the midsection.
They are characterised by round faces and skinny legs.
What you need to do?
You may not realize this but you find yourself stressed🤬😫 most of the time, irregular sleeping habits😴 and using food 🍟🍕to comfort yourself when you feel bad. You won't do much until you can discover your "stressor" and eliminate it. Until then, diet and exercise won't do much but stress you more. yeah I know right? "the struggle"😪

  • Thyroid

This is controlled by thyroxine which makes it difficult to lose weight and keep or maintain weight. These people tend to store weight evenly but if can fluctuate and increase within a short people of time with no visible change in activities. 🚫🧢 tough life
What you need to do?
They usually have thyroid related diseases, as well poor stress coping mechanism which could leave side effects like thinning of hair, and fragility of nails. Reducing your food intake helps and one can never go wrong with quality exercise.

  • Liver

This body type is governed by the body's inability to process and remove an overcomsumption of alcohol (beer belly🍻🍺)and processed foods.

images (7).jpeg
Beer belly
It is characterised by visible protruding stomach distended from the body and also shoulder, knee and back pain
What you need to do?
Change your diet and reduce alcohol consumption. The big belly is from toxins in the liver. It could cause liver diseases, atherosclerosis and also increased blood pressure which would proceed to other complications if not handled properly. Living ✅ would have you feeling ✅

  • Ovary

This type is controlled by the irregularities in estrogen production. It only occurs in women because men don't have ovaries and also can't produce the hormone estrogen under normal physiological conditions. They usually have strong menstrual flow, issues with water retention, store weight in their midsection, thighs and hips, suffer constipation and feel 😩 most of the time. huge respect to women because damn!!! all due to oversecretion of this hormone.
What you need to do?
Eat healthy! This can't be overemphasised. The sugar you eat cause the further production of the hormone that increases your cravings. But a healthy change in diet should do just the trick coupled with adequate exercise

WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Well of course YES! you're the author of your body. You determine the results you get. Nothing good comes easy. But the time and effort put working to either build or lose weight would pay as long as you're going the right way.
Maybe in my next post I'll drop secrets that you didn't know about.
