The skill I want to acquire is web development. It is one of the most in-demand tech skills.
Web developers build websites, design them, host them on servers, launch them, and even maintain them.

Types of web developers

There are basically 3 types of web developers:

Front-end web developers

They are involved in designing what users see when they visit the website. Everything the users face and interact with when they visit the sight is designed by the front-end web developer. Front-end developers have to take into consideration the various devices users may visit with, and therefore they have to make the site responsive to the screen sizes and resolutions of each of those devices.

To be a front-end developer, you have to learn HTML, CSS and Javascript programming language. These are the basic requirements for front-end development.

Back-end developers

They handle the server and database aspects of the website. The ensure the website is hosted on a server and information can be retrieved from the server to the website. They also make sure data from the site is stored in a database.

Some of the programming languages required for back-end development are python, php, MySql, MongoDB.

Full-stack web developers

They have both front-end and back-end developer skills. They do literally everything. They are very knowledgeable in a vast variety of languages. They handle the server side of a website as well as the interface.

Why I want to be a web developer.

Being a web developer is really cool. Businesses today have websites that were built by web developers. New businesses will also require web developers to build and maintain their websites.
The prospects for web developers are great. Web developers can do freelancing jobs, they can also do remote jobs that pay really well, they can host tutorials online and earn from it, etc. From building static websites to dynamic websites, web developers are indispensable.

Furthermore, I intend to become a full-stack web developer because I want to offer both front-end and back-end skills. It's really in demand and I think it would help me have an established career in web development.
