Good day Everyone, my name is Al-amin and here is my entry post into Campus Connect Weekly Contest - Week 13 - 24 hours as a Vice-Chancellor of your University, huge thanks to @campusconnectng for this opportunity.

If I am given the opportunity to serve as a Vice-Chancellor of my school for 24hours, realistically speaking that isn’t enough time to implement some things that will last for a long time but I still will give it a try.
Knowing for a fact that after 24hours, I will be back being a student of that school, so anything I do in that 24hours will be something I will also benefit from. Now if I am made the VC for 24 hours in my school, then;

Firstly, I will make that whole week a lecture-free week, this is really important because so many students out there are stressed with so much workload and they need a break. The normal school holidays might be too far and when it comes, it is too short to recover from all that school stress they went through.

Secondly, Every student of that school will get 30 marks free on all courses, to boost their academic performance and also they will be allowed to retake every test they didn’t do well in. Retaking tests in universities should be a no-brainer and it should be normalized, people that do poorly in a test most times is not because they didn’t study but because the condition they wrote the test wasn’t the right one, probably they weren’t physically, emotionally or mentally ready due to sickness, issues at home, hunger or lack of motivation. So retaking tests or giving free marks by lecturers to students doesn’t hurt anyone, then WHY NOT?

Thirdly, Free meals for each student once a day for that whole week. If you’ve ever attended a Nigerian university then you’ll easily relate to the level of hunger out there, so many students here are just going to school without support from their families as they are left to fend for themselves. Giving out free meals even if it’s once a day will be implemented for that whole week if I am made to serve VC of my school for 24 hours.

Fourthly, Better and faster Wi-Fi network in every area on campus, as it is common knowledge that 90% of the things we do on a daily requires an internet connection. So introducing a well maintained wireless network on campus will be a huge upgrade on the social and academic life of students in the school.
