Cancer can be defined as the abnormal cellular growth that is capable to metastasize . A situation where the cellular cell starts to multiple excessively beyond controls, leads to cancer.Cancer therapy is a sort of treatment administered to patient's who have cancer either using chemotherapy or radiotherapy. It's a gradual treatment in which diagnosed with cancer treated with, it's quite advisable to go for a screening test as soon as some people notices some signs of cancers which are :

1.Fatigue or extreme tirdness
2.weight loss
3.Eating problem
4.belly pain, or nausea and vomiting
5.Swelling or lumps in the body

Types of cancer

1.cervical cancer:

A tumour at the lower-most part of the uterus (womb) that can be prevented screening and a vaccine.Treatments include surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

2.ovariancancer:
A cancer thst is found only at the female organs that produce eggs. This type of cancer normally goes undictated untill it spreads through at the stomach then it becomes very dangerous to the victim involved. Treatment can be done through surgery and chemotherapy

3.breast cancer:
It's cancer that forms in the cells of the breasts ,it only occurs in women and rarely in men. Some of the symptoms are changes in the shape of the breasts and bloody discharge of bloody liquids from the nipples. Treatment may consist of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.

4.lung cancer:

It's a cancer forms in the lungs and most often occurs in people who smoke. Some it's symptoms are serious coughing and chest, some times weight loss. Treatment may be through targeted drug therapy and immunotherapy. It's very advisable to people to stop smoking cigarettes because it causes cancer .

5.prostate cancer :

It's a cancer in a man's prostate. Some of the symptoms are difficulty in urination some times it shows no signs at all. Treatments may be through hormone therapy, chemotherapy or other treatments

In Nigeria if you have cancer we assume it's just death sentence due to the fact we have challenges facing a patient which have it , and this have caused a great problem where by cancer cases which are very preventable and curable should have been avoided.

Challenges facing cancer therapy in Nigeria

1.Lack of health professionals:
Health professionals should be the first priority in this field but due to lack of paying jobs and no provision of funds, health professionals like here in Nigeria seek to travel out of the country because of the attractive high paying jobs, well I don't blame them for that.

2.Access to drugs :
due to lack of drugs and expensive the drugs for cancer therapy, it's quite not accessible to an average person especially to this living in the rural areas . Government need to do well to make sure this drugs are less expensive available to the whole masses irrespective of your status.

3.Screening centers:
Lack of screening centers is really bad . Screening and examination of cancer at it's early stage can go a long way to saving someone's life for example cervical cancer detected at it's stage by screening could be preventable or curable for proper vaccination and treatment is taken .

4.Lack of knowledge:
Government and the international bodies should great public awareness on the important of screening which so many people neglect because of their ignorance, maany life's have been lost. The government and the international agencys needs to create public awareness on the important of screening tests.

5.Diagnostic centers:
Radiological and non radiological examination are important techniques for running diagnosis. In a situation there are limited number big oncology and non oncology stuffs, it's a very serious issue and here in Nigeria there limited number of diagnostic centers .

6.Poorly equipped hospital:
In Nigeria some hospital are poorly equipped posing in big problem in the health center, many people have gone due to the fact there's no proper medical equipment for treatment .

Conclusion

In Nigeria thousands of people have lost lives and some of this cancer are preventable and curable if discovered on time, so I think the government should see into this , make policy and make funds available for cancer therapy improvement in Nigeria .Since 2009 the first international cancer centre was built in Abuja which is not functional, since the nothing else has been done in Nigeria to challenge this deadly disease of cancer in the country. From my reresearch the cases of cancer are increasing year by year with the poor masses left to suffer and die because of something that is very preventable and curable , and nobody seems to care. People are not aware of the dangers be of this disease , scare medical personnels, limited access to drugs, poor equipped hospital etc. All these serve a posing negative effect in the medical unit, if care is not taken it might go out of hand.
