GRABBING THE BULL’S COCK

How did we get here?

In these times of development, technology advancements, inclusive involvements and general acceptance, it remains rather embarrassing that our great nation remains in abrupt shadows...shadows of men and women who have crippled us with their unending lies and political selfishness… men who have swindled away our natural fortunes and left us buggled with these questions.

The very moments these atrocities are called out by we the citizens, so many jeopardies will be unleashed by these powers that be, powers that have outrightly refused to transcend. They play various cards of ethnic disinterest, threats, and pathetic oppressions.

How then must we strategize on purging this great nation of these evil done to her?

Our nation used to stand remarkably uptight in the whole of Africa and the western world couldn’t deny the fact that we’re great people with so much potential.
We’re one of the most blessed Nations in the world, ranging from innumerable natural resources to having super intelligent minds, but for decades now we’ve remained cursed and grated with bad leadership. Bad men have taken over the government and these bad men in order to further their political charades have groomed more men to be as bad as they are...men who will replace them and advance their evil legacies once and if they’re gone.

A system where rule of law and order supposedly made for everyone to live by is now one-sidedly a stricture to the lower classes, and these men in power and the overwhelmingly rich people are apparently above them...who will monitor their excesses? Who will dare speak up? Who already hasn’t been tainted with the trench of godfatherism? How did we get here…?

The solution therein stares glaringly before us and we must grab this golden opportunity and ensure we put an absolute end to bad leadership.
Indeed, these are perilous times...times when we must refuse to remain apolitical, mute and indifferent. No truer words than those said by Dante Alighieri, when he cautioned us that “The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis”.

Nigeria is in a moral crisis. And for this, we must speak up, we must act boldly and fiercely while dealing with this cancer that has refused to die. We must ensure that law and order are abruptly reinforced without any room for bias. We must drag members of the National Assembly and other legislative arms just as much as we drag the executives. Lawmakers must do what they must—to make good laws and to question the excesses exhibited by any Nigerian politician, regardless of statute.

Broo, all you said here is true coupled with the fact that your writing skills are impeccable. With a little extra markdowns your works would be even more attractive to other steemians

That’s the best thing someone’s said to me today, thank you 🥺

Restructuring is the way forward for this nation. Every sector has been marred with one or more corrupt practices so much that we've gotten used to the situation. There's no way forward if we're not ready to let go of our old ways of doing things

You’re right, the corruption is deep rooted and has to be crushed from beneath, as above.

Nigeria has gone deep into the abyss.
The endSARS experience was terrible.
So much has been lost in this country.

I don’t think things will ever be the same anymore.
