Hello guys,
It's been a while and I have really missed this growing community.

There's a popular saying that goes thus " No matter how long a fish stays in the water, it must be caught by a fisher man".
I said this proverb just to explain that no matter how long I stay away from this community, I must surely return. Hahaha.

Sadly, i have heard many campus student complain about setting a particular percent share of their post payout to communities.
And this got me wondering, should campus student set a community beneficiary to their post?.

I believe we all know what it means to set an account beneficiary to your post.
It means that such an account will have a percentage share in whatever reward you receive from the post.

For example, if you set an account 50% beneficiary, such an account will have half of your total earnings for that post.
If that post receives a $100, then the account set as beneficiary will receive $50, that's how beneficiary works.

WHY SHOULD CAMPUS STUDENT SET THEIR POST BENEFICIARY TO CAMPUSCONNECTNG

There are numerous valuable reasons why reasons why campus student should set their post beneficiary, and some of the reasons are:

  • IT SERVES AS SUPPORT TO THE COMMUNITY:

Whenever an individual set a community account as beneficiary, it shows that such an individual is contributing to the growth of that community.

It helps to grow the steempower of that community which leads to more support from the community.

  • IT HELPS AN INDIVIDUAL TO GROW:

Yes, when an individual set a community account as beneficiary, it helps such an individual to grow.
This happens in the sense that the community will always support such an account which of course leads to more votes.

A good example is that of this lovely community of ours, as it is seen, our community votes at $1+ when it is fully recharged, and this is as a result of our delegations and beneficiary.

  • IT REDUCES STRESS OF THE CURATORS:

Asides from the fact that it helps to grow our community account, the setting of beneficiary also helps to reduce the work load of the curators.

Whenever a community account is built, it helps to give support to newbies, and this helps to reduce the stress of the curators.

  • It also helps to make steemians the steemit platform more independent of the curation account, thus making everyone happy and growing steem economy.

When everyone in this platform receives enough support, it will attract more bloggers and this will also help to grow steem economy.

HOW TO SET A POST BENEFICIARY

To set a post beneficiary is a vet easy task to do, the first thing on will do is to make a post but without submission.

  • Then at the space squared in blue, you will add the username of the account.

Note!!!
You are not to add @ at the back of the account name as the @ has been automatically added.
Also, the account name should be written in small letters.

  • Then the space squared with red is where the percentage amount will be written.
If you wish to give 50% of the post payout, you simply write 50.

After all of these have been done, you can now proceed to click on save, then you have successfully added an account as beneficiary to your post.

  • Now inorder to confirm if the beneficiary has been successfully added, you can check it before submitting your post.

As seen above, it is clearly written that I have 1 beneficiary set.
You can set beneficiary to as many accounts as possible, but the total percentage shouldn't exceed 100%.

CONCLUSION

By setting a community account as beneficiary, a student is showing his support and gratefulness to that community.

I imploy that we all strive to support our community by giving them a percentage share in our payout. At least 10%.

Thanks for reading! See you soon 🌝
