My favourite lecturer on campus by @gracyakan
HELLO EVERYONE
INTRODUCTION
Every lecturer has his/her own techniques, style and strategy on how to lecture, get the attention of the students and impact knowledge on them, students prefer different kinds of lecturers depending on their likings and nothing is wrong about that, It is so pronounce that lecturer who uses right techniques of teaching will be love by the majority of students. Everybody during their life meet number of lecturers, starting from nursery school, primary, secondary, college/ University and ending with scientific seminars, Some of them create a bright impression and one will not forget but remember them for a long time, I'm not exceptional, I have my favorite lecturer.
My favorite lecturer was Mr. Zarchious, he taught us pharmacology, that was 10 years ago but I can't forget how he teaches with enthusiasm, I never liked pharmacology because of a lot of formulas which you should know and use them in calculating the dosage of drugs and this make the lecture so boring and could not grasp any point at the end of each lecture.
WHY WAS HE MY FAVORITE LECTURER?
From Mr. Zarchious lectures I started to understand the formulas, and how to use it and do calculations, I understand that everything complex in pharmacology is base on fundamental simple phenomena, after his lectures I always remember the formulas and calculations in that I can derive at answers by myself without any ones help and this really help me to gain more insight on the course.
Yes all these happened due to how he use to explained things and answers questions during his lectures, even if it will means him taking one topic each time, his aim was for all the students to understand, he carried all the students along. He carefully written formulas in blackboard and distinctly highlights key points, gives examples from real life and visualizes a lot of things.
He was very funny and be telling nice story to us,this immediately attracts attention of all the students if I want to write all his techniques it will take time so I only write some techniques he used during lectures, because he had plenty of it and can easily create a great atmosphere in the lecture room, though I cannot convey atmosphere of lecture here, but believe me it was interesting, fascinating and memorable.
HOW DID I MEET HIM?
I meet him in my 2nd year in the lecture hall at ladoke akintola university of technology ogbomoso, Oyo state when he introduced himself to us that he is taking us on pharmacology.
MORE ABOUT HIM AND HIS UNIQUE QUALITIES
No one feels boring in his class as he will crack jokes, I like his strategies of lectures, he asks us to go through the topic from home what he will lecture the next time, he will discuss that topic with us and asks many questions to make it clearer to all, he also did preview of what he will lecture, these will help all to have a clear understanding of all the topic, he give test after lecturing two or three topics, he loves and have passion for his profession.
He was very friendly to us and never makes us fear from him, we ask him any question related to the course without any fear, he watches the activity of each and every student while lecturing and punishes the naughty ones, he advised us to concentrate on our studies and always follow the instructions given by the lecturers if we really want to succeed in life,he never makes partiality between weak and brilliant students, he supports the weak students and plead the brilliant students also to help their weak colleagues, I can't forget this he ask us to be passionate about our study which is an aim of life.
He was very encouraging and has a smiling face all the time, keep us happy like his own children,he talks to all the students and follow lecturers very politely and knows how to handle any difficult situation and settled conflicts amicably.
CONCLUSION
A good lecturer is like a good father or mother that the children will grow to respect,love and cherish also obey, follow their roles and regulations, they contribute positively to success of the students in life, once you see every responsible and successful man and woman there's a good teacher/lecturer behind.
