When we talk about gymnastics... The first thing that should come to our mind is this "Naked Training" The word gymnastics is derived from a Greek word γυμνάζω (gymnazo) which means to "train naked" the word had this meaning because athletes in those days train or compete without putting on any clothe.

Gymnastics is any exercise that develops or displays physical or mental agility and coordination, Basic skills required for the gymnast are flexibility, core strength, balance, upper and lower-body strength, power, mental focus, discipline, and dedication. Although dedication is not a skill but commitment is mandatory and plays a good role in the ability of gymnast.

Men compete on six events which are as follows: Floor Exercise, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and Horizontal Bar, while women compete on four events which are: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise, the toughest and most important skill in gymnastics is Handstand. The handstand is an essential skill for gymnasts to master because it is like a foundation for other skills. Handstand is mostly used in many tumbling skills and is very important when performing on the bars.

Gymnastics was recognised in the early 19th century when a German doctor Friedrich Ludwig Jahn started a few exercises for young men. He introduced the pommel horse, horizontal bar, parallel bar, balance beam, ladder, and vaulting horse, Jahn is recognised today as the father of gymnastics.

Nadia Comăneci was the first gymnast to be awarded at the olympic games in 1976 at the age of 14 with a perfect score of 10:0, Nadia Comăneci is in women's artistic gymnastics and she is a senior elite and she played on national team for 14years (1970–1984)

I want to point out the health benefit of gymnastics,
Gymnastics has both physical and psychological benefit;
° It increases Your Flexibility. As you perform the excercise, it make the muscles to be very flexible.
° It improves Bone Health.
° It builds Strength.
° It helps To Prevent Disease.
° It builds Personal Discipline.
° It develops Greater Coordination.
° It helps one to Focus.
The first four falls under the physical benefit while the last three falls under the psychological benefits because it helps in the following;
° It helps in setting goals.
° It helps in relaxation.
° It helps in visualisation.
° It also helps in positive reinforcement.
