Investment in education is one of the greatest investment a parent can offer the child, or an individual can offer himself, or a nation can offer its citizens. In 2020, the united State invested about 65 Billion dollars of its annual budget on education, this was a big statement, and it goes a long way to show how education is really important for the growth of a nation.

However, over dependence on academic qualifications alone is no more justifiable and its now seen as a very risky gamble to make, considering the advent of the digital era. This means that in addition to the college certification, requisite skill is also needed in order to thrive successfully in the society. This is the new paradigm.

This is a very important question every college student needs to answer and have clarity on, before graduation. As a potential microbiologist, (one who intends to take a bow later in the year i.e If ASUU agrees), I have aspiration of opening a standard laboratory in Nigeria. So, to achieve this, I'll need to have certification in lab science.

Some years ago, people rarely go for medical examination, not to talk diagnostic tests. However, due to couple of researches and advent of multiple drug therapy as well as Idiopathic drug reactions, people now prefer going for sensitivity test in order to ascertain the type the type of medication that will be suitable for a particular health condition. It is one of the growing sector in the medical field with loads of potentials and prospect still waiting to be tapped.

I also intend to further my masters program and possibly PHD in China or the United State. This will only after I must have established the laboratory and use the proceeds to fund my travel. I don't intend to live and die in Nigeria, I also want to explore other business opportunities too in some other countries, hence my ambition of travelling abroad.

I won't limit myself to just what I studied in school, the world has evolve so would I. I intend to delve into some areas like blogging, Afiliate marketing, block chain technology, etc. These areas are where the traffic will really be in a couple of years to come.

Conclusion

Life after school is not always rosy, especially when you didn't take time to plan towards it. This has been justified somewhat, considering the unemployment index of the youth of which majority are fresh graduates. Its time to change the narrative and visualise clear picture of what you really want after school.
