DOGS AND THEIR IMPORTANCE (50% TO @campusconnectng )

Good day Steemians,
It's been a very nice time these past weeks since I became a member of this platform and I'm here again, felt this urge to produce a write up today based on one of my favorite animals. I hope you all enjoy this one.
Today's write up isn't going to be about something far away from our basic environment or something unknown to most people. One way or the other we must have seen or come across "man's best friend" the Dog. Ever wondered why an animal would be tagged with such a title? This write up seeks to elaborate on the little importance on Dogs and how they help humanity.

As we all know a Dog is a domestic animal with four limbs and a tail they can leave for 12-15 years depending on their life span and size. Much smaller dogs live longer than bigger dogs. It's appearance could be identical with a wolf that is due to it's relation with them. Dogs are kept majorly as pets by most people. I own a dog, although still a puppy. The Dog exists in numerous species i.e German shepherd, rottweiler, caucasian etc. which although can all be domesticated, are all unique in their own way ranging from speed to strength to hunting to being a good companion etc. This uniqueness enable them to be of good use to man and humanity at large in the various ways. Such as:
● HUNTING:

This purpose is common in my region, Africa. Dogs serve as an extra hand to hunters especially those that hunt rodents i.e hamsters, Guinea pigs, hares, grass cutters etc.
Excluding traps, dogs hunt down these rodents and bring them back to the hunters making the hunting task less difficult.
● GUARD AND SECURITY:

Dogs can be used to guard lives and properties. In modern times, we have seen people keep dogs in their homes not just for keeping sake, but to identify any trespasser and alert the owner. The military also use dogs to sniff out targets and illicit drugs at the airports.
●GUIDE FOR BLIND PEOPLE:

Dogs serve as aid to blind people who may not have voluntary help or support for them. Through the neck collar fastened to a rope which the blind person holds to have control of the dog.
● COMPANIONSHIP:

In a world where depression and loneliness is one of the leading reasons for sucide, dogs can also serve as a means of companionship to many as they can be not only intelligent but also engage in mini games with humans which can encourage exercise and elevate ones mood. Dogs can serve as a companion to people of all ages.

The above stated and many more are the reasons to get a dog and get familiar with dogs because really they are "man's best friends". A dog can can identify a grieving owner and not only stare and look but try to provide a solution.

It is also safe to say that dogs have excellent swimming skills meaning they are good swimmers and have alot of care and affection for their owners. Hopefully a couple of you reading this through my write up may consider getting a dog as a pet. Trust me it is a wonderful experience to have a dog.
