REPORTS FROM UNEC NIGERIA : Caught in a Trap
source
The debris plucked from the teeth can never satisfy a hungry man, neither can a stolen piece of grain fill a hungry soul.
It's been a long while since I made an article here on the community. I happen to be in Enugu and within my campus environs lately. These where the unwinding events that took place few months back before the Strike actions proper. You all never missed so much.
It all started at the later days of the month of April. The campus was winding up and commercial activities where wrapping up too so soon. However students in their finals such as us and some other post graduate students conducting research work too where still present in the school environs. The campus was generally empty and at odd hours and dangerous too.
Moreso, there was little pick pockets here and there and some other crimes too. There was this young guy who was known by some people. He was a young lad but very dangerous. He would stand on a single bush track which leads to residential areas around the school premises and he would ruffle you up at unguarded moments with a very sharp knife and claim your properties, while giving you a hot chase.
However, his primary target was young ladies with little or no strength for combat and fearful ladies who either where on a rush for morning academic activities or those returning from night class sessions too. This lad rarely attacked guys, as he was so young. Each successful operation boosted his confidence and increased his vilian quest.
Furthermore, he tried snatching a lady's bag she got in a tuzzle with him and he lost his weapon, this made her grab him while screaming he noticed how fearful he looked and gave him an equal wrestling match, she dragged his shirt until they where torn, he took to his heels and left her. That was the beginning of his nemesis. She marked his face and recognised him a week later during the day.
She set eyes on him the next week and he jerked and stood still she saw the injury he had on his eyes during the day of the attack and aroused an angry student mob. He was shoved and beaten until he confessed, he was the son of an orange seller in the heart of the school. A young boy of 19 years. So shameful and painful for his poor mother. He was handed over to security for absolute justice to take place.
