Article : THE LOOSE TONGUE

A loose tongue is a figurative expression so to say used to explain the characteristic feature of a talkative. For someone to possess a loose tongue the individual must be someone who talks a lot without thinking about the consequences of each statement made. It is a bad habit and has caused many broken homes in most marriages today.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A LOOSE TONGUE

They are usually aggressive, blinking quickly as they unleash their rage over slight provocation.

They usually end up pointing at their victims during heated argument and rain curses on their victims if the need arises.

No secrets is safe with such a person. They always find reason to share secrets of people, most times involuntarily and in some cases for selfish aggrandisement

A loose tongue would always get in trouble due to words the individual say or statement which implicates them.

BRIDLE THE TONGUE

A few days ago where I stay here in Enugu, the next apartment after mine lounge, two guys had a heated argument and one of the duo, threatened to deal with the other, if he called him a bastard again!! He felt the guy was joking, before they the statement could be completed was already pouncing on him reached out for a broken piece of bottle, and started shoving the guys face!!

It was a disaster, because the guy lost an ounce of flesh on the face and had a broken nose. Bridle your tongue. He is in stable condition now.

It is really crucial to bridle the tongue. Courtesy demands we talk in moderation and actually do everything in moderation. Talking with people is a great part of socialization and can barely be overemphasized.

The tongue must be contained in its rightful place be more of a great listener, read educational books and wisdom books too in order to speak wisdom to lives when you talk. Enough of the vulgar words when we talk. We learn to bridle our tongue when we talk. Speak in moderation.
