The Role of Virtual Learning In Universities Around The World By @badmus-official
Hello everyone, how are you doing, welcome to another great contest in the campus connect community, on today's, I shall be discussing the topic "The Role of Virtual learning in the Universities around the world".
Without further ado, I will dive right into the topic and give in details of the contest requirements.HAPPY READING
This is something that has been experienced, a situation no one believes could come into session or could have been successful as this, so yes!!, virtual learning can shape education.
Let's discuss what we mean by virtual learning, Virtual learning is the knowledge acquired through the internet or any medium of transformation or communication, this is different from what we experienced in our physical learning, i.e, physical class sessions.
Prior to the pandemic of 2020, no one could believe the virtual learning mode will be as quality as we have seen it today, but surprisingly, it has tends to keep everybody safe from harm, whereby, students don't necessarily need to go out or move an inch from the lodge before they participate in the learning environment.
In the case of virtual, teachers and students meets up in a virtual world, or a virtual environment and knowledge could be passed and as well tasks could be given.
Yes!!, I believe some universities can incorporate a virtual learning environment into their curriculum, I think it is even the best, as this tends to keep the number of students around campus minimal.
For instance, the 100 level and 200 level students can start their school session in a virtual environment, whereby, this keeps the school environment less crowdy and have only the penultimate and Final years around, as the 100 level and 200 level are still basically introductions, their attention is not needed most in the school environment, so in that case, they are not really much into practicals, which thus means they are not needed in the physical environment.
So to justify the answer, I had said yes, the universities can incorporate this decision into their curriculum so as to play it safe for both the students and their learning environment, and as well makes task easy for everyone.
Yes, such idea is very possible provided the university could provide the students with the needs to keep up with the virtual class or as well make it free and cheap.
The university could as well incorporate it as part of the admission requirement for every freshers to own a tablet, and as well a well subscribed monthly wifi, or they could at least install an accessible router in each students hostel, in this case, the session gets to come freely provided all the materials are been provided for.
The virtual environment can be accessed through several virtual platform, for example;
Discord Channel
Zoom
Google Meets
All these listed are virtual applications that can be used to provide the requirement for a video session.
Yes, I have had many virtual learning environment, I am currently enrolled in a Software Engineering Programme Known as ALX.
ALX is a software engineering program designed for Africans, to keep them intact in the tech world, The program is 12-month course, and afterward, all students can successfully graduates as a Front end or Back end developer dependent on his choice.
The session runs it class from Monday to Friday with several tasks, and also , there are youtube videos and PDFs that come with each task.
As seen from the image above, 0x16 is my current project I am expected to enroll in and it has started two days ago, while on the other side is my performance so far. the project has a great way of evaluating its students, in a case where each user gets below 80% average score each month, he or she gets to be disqualified, and the project carries several weight.
As I had said earlier, over in the above is the task I am being required to fulfilled in 6 days which the task is to Write a simple UNIX command interpreter, the project was paired between me and a brother from South Africans, this allows us to intercats and comes with a solution on the Programming task given.
The image above shows the project I have participated on so far, and as well how well have ben able to perform in it.
The world is moving fast, and the best anyone could do is to partake in its movement, technology is a new movement and a new phase, I have always said this to anyone "so far you have a computer and an internet, you have everything you needed", there are lots of courses one can enroll on Udemy or Academia, whereby whatever knowledge you seek is available and almost as free.
Education tends to take time when sitting around waiting for it, the best is to try and catch up as possible as we can, I had referenced all universities students out there to engage in a virtual environment, online classes are mostly free or almost affordable, it doesn't hurt to partake in one and boost your learning confidence.
I would like to wrap up the article from here on, I hope to see great deal of you in the coming week's engagement,**Thank You!!.
Virtual learning is good yea and like you said it could be used for those in 100l and 200l to reduce crowding in the universities among other things though especially for those in 100l because there are courses that requires lot of practicals that actually start from 200l.
You have written a nice post overall
Thanks for stopping by!!
Very interesting and practical write up, good luck in this contest.
Nice delivery, actually I wasn't expecting you in this competition 😃
Anyway, thanks for giving your contributions, and the ALX programme seems to be quite cool, therefore I will like to give it a shot.
Online classes means burning enough data weekly and with the economic situation in most countries, especially the ones without a free WiFi connections, this is almost not really favourable.
Beautiful post!
