Hello friends,

It's been a while and I have really missed this community a lot.
Before I proceed with the discussion for today, I'll love to thank the campus team for their support and love and this has really kept me going.

Our discussion today centers on the political activities on campus.

Yes, we will all agree that the respective authoritative posts given to students in a university are not just given randomly or based on their G.P.

For this post to be given to students, an election has to take place and this brings us to popular Participation.

Popular Participation may be explained as a process in which students are allowed to take part in the school's political activities.

The participation in the university's politics boils down to our fundamental human rights which includes right to vote and be voted for.

It can also be explained as the medium in which students take part in the decision making process in the campus.

For example, a student have the right to protest if he is not comfortable with the decisions made by the student.

So I'll conclude that participating in school's protest alongside your fellow students is also a popular Participation. [Joining the spirit of alutas].

WHY STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN POLITICAL ACTIVITIES ON CAMPUS

  • To earn student's respect
  • To acquire power
  • To acquire authority
  • To take part in the decision making of the school

It is also good to note that political power is different from the power gotten from cultism.

Political power are bestowed on student because of their moral standard and it is bestowed legally but the power from cultism is gotten from the use of arms, the use of dangerous tools.

As I earlier explained in my prevent post, cultism is one thing a student should flee from.

Below are some ways to avoid cultism

  • By studying hard in school
  • Going to church and always studying your Bible
  • Go for counseling
  • Avoid bad association
  • Avoid dresses that attracts cultist
  • Parents also have roles to play to make sure their children stays away from cultism as they happen to be our first teachers.

Please follow me as we shall continue later to learn on different campus activities.

Popular participation should be encouraged in our various campuses. Students ought to shake off the political apathy that has wound us all up because politics affects our daily lives.
Nice post friend

Very true. Political apathy, the attitude of feeling that one's involvement in the political affairs of his immediate society would not really amount to much, has lead to a decrease in political activity.

This post was really enlightening.
