HOW TO AVOID CULTIST OR CULTISM ON CAMPUS

in CampusConnect2 years ago

Hello campus friends,

It is an honor to be before this honourable community after several months of absence.
Well, it feels good to be back.

From my little survey, I noticed that many freshers in school are easily initiated into cults and this is because they lack orientation on how to avoid these cult groups.

As we all know these cultist groups in Nigerian universities are Known to be deadly and dangerous. Their members are always looking for the next available trouble to find.
Fighting, harrasing and stealing from innocent students as well as forcefully asking new intakes to join them
This article will inform you on how to stay away or avoid cultist or cultism.

  • DRESS CODE/COLOUR:

What you wear and the colour of your dress is very important. I can tell you authoritatively that so many innocent people are harassed in universities because of this.
There are some colour combination that you should avoid, colours like yellow and yellow, yellow and black, red and black , white and red should be avoided as much as possible. These colors have different meaning to cultist as they use these colors to identify themselves. Also avoid wearing clothes with skulls, goat heads, eye of horus, the all seeing eye of a pyramid etc avoid hand bands of all kind, instead, wear a wrist watch to compliment your dress code

  • FACE YOUR STUDIES:

This is the reason why your parents sent you to the university and the reason why you are there to face your studies.

If you are the type that is always found in social gatherings, clumsy and looking for trouble, it won't be long when a popular cult in your University will come knocking at your door, so do focus on your books

  • LIMIT YOUR MOVEMENT WITH PRETTY GIRLS:

One thing is sure if you are a very bright student in your department, especially if you are a guy, it is normal for the pretty girls and chicks to give themselves to you, funny enough this doesn't go well for cultist they don't want to share pretty girls with anyone whether dull or bright so just try to make it business with these girls.
Avoid meeting with them privately because they are watched by cultist and you might fall victim

  • AVOID PEOPLE WITH SLANGS AND CODED LANGUAGES:
In Nigeria every nook and cranny have their slangs that its members understand.

A lot of students have fallen prey to this coded languages without knowing. Just because you are in the university does not mean that you should use coded languages or slangs to communicate.
It is better to be safe than sorry, as you don't know who is who that might decode your language and mistake you for a cultist

  • HAND SIGNS AND HAND SHAKES:
There are some hand signs and shakes used and understood by cultist. These signs have different meanings. Some undergraduates use these hand shakes innocently. I was personally slapped by a cultist for shaking a friend of mine that way so please avoid such cult secret handshakes

  • RESPECT YOURSELF:
You got admitted into this university and on a certain day you fought with someone you don't know, he tells you "you don't know who I am, you will see what I will do to you in this school" five days later you were beaten black and blue when going for night class.

This scenario is common, worse cases ends up in death. Its better you mind your business, avoid argument and places that are prone to fights, it will do you good on the long run. Don't underestimate anyone

  • AVOID EXCESSIVE PARTYING:

Now that you are in the university there are no parents to tell you what you should do or what not to do. Partying is part of the social life in the university.
Avoid its excesses as cultist are always found in such areas and gatherings. Most especially night parties

  • IF YOU ARE RICH TELL NO ONE:
It is good to be rich especially when you can afford all the necessities of life. The problem I have with Rich kids in the university is the way and manner in which they flaunt their wealth making them easy targets for these cultist.

I am not saying you shouldn't enjoy your money but please stop making it too obvious. Stay district by telling no one

  • AVOID POLITICAL POSITIONS IN SCHOOL:

Trust me students occuping most positions in universities (SUG), are mostly cultist. I Know some people will say I am blabbing but that is the real fact, if you want to avoid being tracked by cultist in your school, avoid popularity and positions by all means

CONCLUSION

The tips above are just a few of what would guide you on how to avoid being monitored by cultist in the university.

While there are situations where some of this tips may not be valid, some people choose to live on churchious and holy kind of life to ward them off.

If for any reason you have gotten into trouble with a cultist, please do not hesitate to apologise , even roll on the floor, if possible, don't form saint or strong guy because these cultist love trouble. If after you have you have begged and they are still disturbing, seek advice from your guidance counselor

Finally, learn how to stay out of trouble while at campus.

This is no fear bro, it's just like a warning on how to avoid cultism in school.

Have you been to Universities such as unilag and uniben?
If you have, then you will understand what I'm talking about.

My older sister in the university of Calabar gave me an experience of how her close friend was killed before her eyes, you know why?

Simply because he didn't respect himself and he moved with individuals that communicate with slangs.

I made this post just to sound warning to freshers out there, as they easily fall prey to cultism
