What inspired my business?

Growing up, I've always admired my father who is a large scale dealer of printing materials and stationeries. The journey was tough because I know nothing was handed down to him. So it's safe to say he's "Self made". And yes, he's my role model in the business world.

The Genesis

In 2019 towards to end of my first year in the University. I wasn't too happy with my financial status and thought to myself what I could do which wouldn't stress me much as a medical student and also get me a few bucks here and there.
That's when the idea clicked. I decided to start an online store. It solved the problem of looking for commodities in the market (which is alot of struggle if I must say) and you could do that from the comfort of your bed and convenience of social media. I went to the market often in search of wholesalers who could supply me these products at very good rates. I purchased a few of these items and would advertise on my WhatsApp status.
To be honest it was tough. I lost alot of money because these products were on the expensive end and demand was very low. I decided to get these items on demand.

What did I do to improve sales?

As initially stated, sales were poor so I went in search of possible solution to my problem..you could guess ....BOOKS...

A took some online courses to improve my writing, human psychology and digital marketing skills
That's how I learnt about selling emotions and not products. Also SEO optimization, and the likes.
