How can starting your own business help save water in your area and around the world?

Different innovative practices could be adopted in our own businesses which can contribute in saving water in our area directly and globally respectively. Water is essential for life, we should always be cautious in using resources that are passed from generation to generation. There is a saying of our Holy Prophet PBUH which says that, "Do not use more water than you need even if you are sitting on a river bank".

Education and awareness come first. Solving any issue needs awareness about the issue. Awareness sessions, distributing educational material and holding workshops in different institutes can be good ways of spreading awareness and imparting knowledge about the seriousness of the issue.

Water recycling techniques can be introduced on all levels, from home to industries. I personally never use water taps and pipes for washing floors and clothes. Instead I use water baskets for washing clothes and re-use same water for washing floors. Yesterday we had to wash carpets and blankets so I managed it in a way that involved minimum consumption of water. I put all the blankets on the carpet and used water basket instead of water pipe. Similarly for irrigation and industries smart technologies should be introduced so that it enables waste water for reuse.

Civil societies can be good option for engaging communities to take active part in improving water reserves like cleaning river or introducing and supporting water infrastructure programs and projects.
Last but not the least policy advocacy regarding water conservation can help a lot. It may involve advocating for limited and needed use of water on all levels. Keeping a proper check and balance on water usage can further help in achieving purpose. This way we will be able to play our part actively and will motivate others too.

What new gadgets or ideas can we use to clean up dirty water and make it safe to drink especially in places where water is hard to find?

Clean drinking water access can be improved through innovative plans and concept, particularly in areas with limited access.Simplest way is to keep water bottles in sunshine for six hours, so people with limited or no resources should use this technique. Portable water filters like straw and pump filters are lightweight and effective in eliminating impurity and bacteria. There are several other ways of purifying water which should be adopted according to affordability. Solar water purification systems use sunlight to cleanse water, while UV water purifiers use UV radiation to kill bacteria. Gravity-based water filtration systems remove pollutants like germs and heavy metals. Desalination technologies, like reverse osmosis can address water scarcity in coastal areas. Bamboo charcoal filters, a sustainable and natural solution, can improve water quality and public health.

How can businesses make money while still making sure we are taking care of our water even when things like climate change make it harder?

It is usually because of climate change that water availability and quality of water is changed. But there are always solution to problems. The creation and promotion of water efficient technologies is one such solution. Businesses may meet the growing need for sustainable water management techniques and access lucrative markets by developing goods such as smart irrigation systems, leak detection technologies, and water recycling solutions.
Besides, companies should be introduced that can provide governments and commercial entities with specific water management services. various tool like water audits, putting water-saving techniques into practice, and creating resilient water infrastructure are a few examples of these services. Businesses can not only make money but also support environmental sustainability by offering advice and solutions offered to maximize water usage and reduce risks related to contaminated water or water shortage.
