Homemade Pancakes for everyone

Hi friends,

Today, I'll be sharing the process of making pancakes. Pancake is a snack made basically from flour and the good thing about this snack is that it is less time consuming and easy to make. You can eat it with any beverage of your choice or with a cup of coffee or tea if you are using it for breakfast. It can be eaten anytime and even serve as snacks for picnics.

So here's how I prepared mine.

Preparation Time: This took about 15 minutes because I wanted the pancakes in large quantities and I probably made like 20pieces. So if it's for personal use you could use about 5mins to make about 2-3pieces.

Cook time: This took about an hour. Yours could be more or less depending on the quantity of pancakes you are making.

Ingredients:::

  • 18 tbsp. Plain flour (all-purpose flour)
  • 4 tbsp. Granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup of Water (more or less)
  • 3 tbsp. powdered milk, evaporated milk
  • 2 Raw eggs
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • Fresh/Chilli pepper (grinded)
  • 1 medium sized onion (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoonful Butter/margarine (melted)
  • 1-2 tablespoonful vegetable oil (for greasing the pan)

NOTE: The above listed ingredients are subject to change depending on the quantity of pancakes you want to make. So feel free to add more ingredients and spices to your preference. You can use the evaporated milk as it is or dilute with a little water. I diluted mine. But if you are using powdered milk, dissolve it in little quantity of water. This depends on how thick or thin you want your pancake to turn out.

Directions:::

Step 1: Break the eggs into a bowl, add sugar and whisk thoroughly.

Step 2: Then in a separate medium sized bowl, put the flour. Make a well in the middle of the flour and pour in the milk. Keep mixing till you get a smooth batter.

Step 3: Gently add the whisked eggs, sugar, nutmeg, salt and mix

Step 4: Add the chopped pepper & onions and mix. Gradually add the water and continue stirring until the pancake batter is smooth with a runny consistency.

Step 5: Heat a non-stick frying pan and add a trace of butter/margarine or vegetable oil ; Spread the oil evenly over the whole surface and heat up until hot.

Step 6: Using a soup spoon, scoop up some of the pancake batter and pour into the hot pan. Swirl so that the batter can evenly coat the surface of the pan. Cook for 1 minute and flip over for another 30seconds.

Step 7: Transfer to a flat plate and repeat the process till the batter is used up.

Pancakes are better Served Hot.
