SEC - S15W6 : LIVING WITH STEEM

I have been in steemit for over 3 years and for a certainty, it has been great. When I started writing it was just cumbersome. Writing was not my thing. So to bend my head writing every time was difficult for me.

I would be willing to share my personal stories regarding my journey in steemit. The contest topic that will help me write this is LIVING WITH STEEM.

Income and Skills Development

I joined steemit since the year 2020. Prior to those time, I never had interest in writing. Writing was very boring. Being in steemit was like going to school to learn something new. Despite that, I was determined to continue on the platform.

The encouragement I received back then was really helpful in my continued existence on the
Steemit platform.

I have really learned and developed various skills from steemit. First and foremost is that it has helped me develop and hone my skills in writing. I can now be able to sit down, compose and write meaningfully about many topics in steemit. Something I could not do before. I learnt the habit of making researches to learn more, all thanks to steemit.

Apart from honing my skill in writing, I have learned some skills too when it comes to cooking. In steemit, we see people from various background displaying their culinary skills and it has been an honor to learn from them. I have greatly increased my cooking skills to he delight of my family.

Another area that steemit have really helped me is the area of block chain. Before now, I knew nothing or just a little about block chain and cryptocurrency, but today, I can be proud to say that my knowledge about blockchain and cryptocurrency has greatly improved, all thanks to the steemit crypto academy community. There are so many things that I have learned and skills that I have acquired from steemit. Time would fail me to list all of them out.

Community and Social Support

The steemit platform have really been of assistance to me financially. Considering the hard economic situation we face in my country. It has been a great source of passive income for me and many families. This is made possible through the upvotes given to my publications.

Apart from the financial assistance it has rendered to me and my family, I have been able to form great friendships with many steemians. These ones are not even from the same country , yet our friendship is so close.

They have been a source of encouragement and upliftment even during times of discouragement. There suggestions and advice have been close to perfection. When discussing with them outside steemit, I learn a lot from them. So these relationships have gone beyond friendship on steemit to the outside world. We continue to chat and discuss matters

It is no longer a story that steem is acting as a catalyst in helping it's users to enjoy a better life. I am not left alone in this case. In fact, I am a living proof of the goodness of steem in helping I and my family live a better life.

Charity

I was part of the team that assisted many in my locality to regain better Ife when life was tough for them. Through the then steemwomensclub community, I was able to reach some kids and families with what they needed. I bought some school uniforms, shoes, bags to one school kids. I have cash to some families and some was good items. They were really happy when these things were given to them too the point that even onlookers were amazed and they spoke highly of steem/steemit. Which ecosystem does that? It can only be steem acting as a catalyst for better life.

Changing the economic narratives of it's users

I joined steemit when I had lost hope that there is something good online. But I decided to try it out and by then, the price of steem means next to nothing in my currency. But I decided to strive to accumulate whatever I earn so that it can become something. Little did I know that it can come in handy to give my family a truly better life in the future.

When the price started to increase and to be of value in my currency, I was able to use it to provide food and clothing for myself and my family. Infact, I enjoyed a truly better life as I could be able to eat what I wanted at any point in time, go to where I wanted to go to within my country, and buy what I wanted. I was able to rent an office space for steemit training, equiped it with furnitures and brought it to the standard that was the envy of many then when compared to those around. And even today that the economy of my country is crumbling, steem is still helping me to live a better life. It has provided a home for my and my household, food and clothing and even the kids school stuffs are cared for to a large extent. I am truly grateful for all these

Personal development

I was that lady that was afraid of writing at the beginning of my journey here on steem. But I took the bold step and started learning how to blog using the achievement tasks. Beginning with the diarygame posts and other simple contests, I was able to learn how to publish articles. When it comes to crypto related contents, I was truly afraid to join. I didn't even have believe in it but here I am. I am even doing my best carrying out crypto assignments weekly. Is there any other personal development that is more than these? All thanks to steem for helping me with these education. There still other skills I have learned from steem. My Cooking and baking skills have been enhanced due to some contests that I did on steemit here. To the point that someone thought that I was a caterer. It's just amazing.

Social life

Steemit itself is a social media platform. I have made so many good amd wonderful friends here on the blog. Most of which I haven't even met for the first time but my friendship with them have extended to the point that it is difficult to believe that I haven't met them in person.

Both within and outside my country, I have had the opportunity to make build great friendships. Yes, they are now like families. Time will even fail me if I begin to list them here. Almost everyone here on the blog can be regarded as my friends irrespective of distance and differences in ideologies. I believe we have one thing in common and in one way or the other, we can still come across each other. It's just amazing how steem has acted and it's still acting as a catalyst in helping me to improve my social life. Some meetups that I had organized in the past has been of immense help in helping to cement these relationships.

Conclusion

i am proudly a steemian

The steemit platform have been helpful in various ways to me. It has helped me to acquire some skills and knowledge which left alone, it would not have been possible.

I have also benefited from it from the financial point of view, act both as. Passive income and a major source of income for the household sometimes.

The great friendships that i have cultivated in this platform is indeed wonderful. I would always be grateful to steemit for providing such opportunity for me.
