Here I will discuss about the local business of my city. Thanks to him for organizing such a wonderful contest.

Local Business refers to a business that mainly operates in a particular area and is focused on meeting the needs of the people in that area. Such as agricultural business, local grocery stores, restaurants etc. They usually fall under local business. Local businesses usually emphasize their direct personal relationships with customers and their service quality is adjusted according to the needs of the local community.

Agricultural Products Vegetable Business

Agricultural produce refers to all the products that are produced through agriculture. It includes grains, fruits, vegetables, livestock, fish, dairy products etc. They are used in food production, manufacturing of industrial products and meeting the daily needs of people. I am discussing the image of our city.

As a local business, the business of agricultural products and vegetables is very profitable and sustainable. Many people of our village are involved in this business. But especially if properly planned and managed. This is especially useful when you consider the needs of local markets and communities. Being a local business has some advantages of vegetable business. Some examples are given.

• High Demand : People buy vegetables every day so it is a consistently high demand product.

• Less Capital : Initially vegetable farming does not require much capital. You can start farming yourself and sell directly to the local market.

• Importance Of Fresh Produce : Local consumers are often attracted to locally produced fresh and organic products. It is a great advantage for business.

• Local Market : There are opportunities to deliver to local farmers markets or supermarkets in your area. Besides, the business can be increased by selling at the local farmer's market or directly to the customer.

• Low Transportation Cost : Being a local business keeps transportation cost low which helps in increasing your profit margin.

What is the daily price of this product?

Business of vegetables is very profitable in different countries including Bangladesh. Especially if you plan properly and work according to market demand. However, the business potential of vegetables should be evaluated keeping some things in mind.

Vegetables are in demand throughout the year. Fresh vegetables have always been a part of household staples so a stable market is possible. Vegetables spoil quickly. So you need to sell them quickly or store them properly. Therefore, effective transportation and storage systems are essential. The rate of profit in vegetable business depends on the market demand. On product quality and on time sales. If you buy from the farmer at a low price and sell it at a high price in the market, the profit will be high.

Currently, the price of vegetables in the market of Bangladesh has increased a lot. Especially in Chittagong, Noakhali, Sylhet, Feni and other regions. Floods and incessant rains have led to supply shortages.

• Among vegetables, the price of green chillies in Chittagong has gone up to 800 to 1000 taka per kg, which is 40-50 Steem approx. Other vegetables like kankarol 110 to 150 taka, which is 5.5-7.5 Steem approx. Eggplant 100 to 150 Taka, 5-7.5 Steem approx.

• Sweet pumpkin is selling at BDT 50 to 60 taka and potato at 70 taka per kg 2.5-3 Steem and 3.5 Steem approx. Due to the supply shortage, prices have increased and it may take a few days for the situation to normalize. But in some places of our village the price of vegetables is a little low.

How are the monthly profits and losses of traders?

Starting a local vegetable business requires proper planning, market analysis and basic understanding of agriculture and business. What vegetables you will grow, what will be the production season and environment, market analysis and competition etc. It is important to select fertile and easily irrigated land for growing vegetables. Since it is a local business, transportation costs will be lower if the land is in the surrounding area and fresh produce can reach the market easily. The monthly profit and loss in vegetable business depends on many factors like..

• Seasons : Vegetables are seasonal business so some vegetables sell more in certain seasons. Good profit in season but loss in off-season.

• Market demand : If the market demand for vegetables is high, the profit potential increases. Besides, if the demand is low, the price also goes down, which increases the possibility of loss.

• Market Competition : Due to competition with other traders in the market the profit share may be less.

• Preservation System: Vegetables perish quickly so without good storage system the business has to face losses.

• Transportation Cost: If the vegetables are brought from far away then the transportation cost increases. It can also reduce the amount of profit.

The monthly profit calculation mainly depends on the above factors and there is wide variation in the profit and loss amount. But a successful businessman tries to increase profits by analyzing the market keeping these things in mind. Generally those who are skilled and understand the market at the right time can make good profit in the month. Average business monthly profit can be BDT 20,000 to 50,000 Taka which is 1000-2500 Steem approx. However, this amount can be higher in larger businesses.
