My dear Steemians, we are about to embark on some new and exciting contests this week, and I humbly greet you all. As a participant in this contest, I am really thrilled, and I hope and encourage everyone to attempt it.

In my native place, Kerala, India, we already rely on so many renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectricity. Our place is so user-friendly in this case, and our natural biodiversity has become good for making this kind of energy. My native place is near a coastal area, and I would like to introduce a new technology wave to save my world, and I hope our climate will really help to start this new venture. I think this one will be more successful in our area. This green hydrogen idea or technology—I'm inviting everyone's attention here.

In this regard, we must consider innovative concepts on par with those of the green hydrogen. Green hydrogen is a probable solution that we can rely on for a sustainable planet and renewable power source. This revolutionized technology uses renewable resources such as wind or solar to generate hydrogen, which is a universal fuel applicable in many things. Green hydrogen powers cars and makes electricity that are taking us towards a brighter and cleaner world ahead.

Electrolysis which split water into oxygen and hydrogen without emitting greenhouse gases, if powered by renewables, will allow for a zero-carbon hydrogen. Such hydrogen is called green hydrogen. Green hydrogen acts as a key in converting green electricity into the transportation fuel or a raw material for those industrial processes which have so far lacked such “climate neutral” substitutes. It means that green hydrogen and derived fuels like green ammonia make it possible to push the wind power in the fuel tank of a container ship. This is how hydrogen may considerably increase the possibilities of decarbonization for the renewable energy sources.

The world generates 75 million tons of hydrogen per annum today. This comes from mostly natural gas and coal, which is mostly generated from fossil fuels. This leads to an emission of about 830 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) annually – approximately one and a half of what is emitted by Germany.

This hydrogen production will be green, and that is what will significantly help to cut down the emissions. The future market potential of this tiny molecule remains colossal. Green hydrogen presents the promise when the world is struggling in cutting carbon emissions and addressing global warming threat. Unlike normal hydrogen production which employs fossil fuel-based plants, green hydrogen relies on electrolysis involving clean and renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy. Green hydrogen production relies on renewable energy sources that help reduce harmful contamination from greenhouse gas.

However, among these attributes of green hydrogen, perhaps, one of the most noteworthy is its flexibility. It could be utilized as an alternative transport fuel, displacing fossil fuels, which would also help cut on emissions. Hydrogen powered vehicles are a zero-emission option which can be instrumental in producing healthy and clean cities Moreover, green hydrogen can be used in the production of steel and ammonia replacing carbon intense fuels in industries thus minimizing our carbon footprints.

Green hydrogen has started showing its power in different parts of the globe. For example, the construction process has started on Germany’s largest green hydrogen plant that will generate 900 tons per year. This is an important goal that will help facilitate green industry to provide power to industrial processes and support the move to a carbon-less economy.

The green hydrogen hub in Australia is currently in the making, and will eventually export its hydrogen to the Asian countries. The green hydrogen program demonstrates the economic aspect of green hydrogen, international cooperation opportunity as well as role in decreasing global CO2 emission.
