★Agricultural and economic impact of Bangladesh.|| 19November/2022 ||
Assalamualikum I am Labib. Welcome to the popular Steemit platform. Hope everyone is well. Today we will discuss about rural agriculture and its economic impact. Hope you all like my post.
Rural development is essential for overall development of any country. Rural economy is dependent on agriculture. Every state lays emphasis on agricultural development. Agricultural development, in turn, paves the way for the development of farmers. The scientific method of intensive farming through the use of improved seeds and fertilizers in every inch of farmland is called the 'agricultural revolution'. Although the infrastructural facilities of rural areas are different from urban areas, if every house in the village is provided with electricity and road communication is provided, it is helpful for a better and prosperous life. Along with this, there is a need for sanitary toilets and clean water.
Currently, 70 percent of the population of Bangladesh lives in villages and 30 percent in cities. About two and a half centuries ago this rate was 80 percent and 20 percent respectively. In 1947, when two independent states named India and Pakistan were born, our current Bangladesh was included in Pakistan as East Pakistan. At that time there were no factories in East Pakistan. Apart from the rural areas, there was no electricity in the urban areas either. Other than the main road in the city, other roads were either paved or unpaved. The number of sanitary latrines in the city was negligible.
According to some, the current population of Bangladesh is close to 16 crores, while others say it is more than 16 crores. Bangladesh is a small country. The country is the most densely populated in the world. The amount of agricultural land in this country is very small compared to the population; But due to improved seeds and fertilizers and scientific modern methods of cultivation, the production of every agricultural product has increased. In our country, the regions where mango, litchi, orange, malta, baukul, applekul, amra, bel, katebel, kaji guava, grapes etc. are produced; Farmers in those regions have had great success planting these trees in courtyards, ponds and roadsides or in farmlands. It has given them a way to earn extra income. Apart from agriculture, if cottage industries and other industries can be developed in the rural areas, the people of the villages will not move to the cities in search of livelihood and extra income.
Our progress in this direction is not promising. In the sense that rural development and agricultural revolution have been termed as 'state principles' in the country's highest law constitution, if we are motivated by its spirit and implement this principle effectively, the overall development of the country and the farmers' living conditions will be greatly improved.
