Climate Change

Climate is said to be an average atmospheric condition of an area or a place in a long period of time, its normally occurs over years, can be up to ten or more years before it can change.

When talking about climate, most people get confused, if we are referring to weather, the answer is No, however, it should be known that, when a topic as climate is brought up, we are referring to a long term atmospheric condition and not a short one, there are few differences between climate and weather, which i would say few, here in this post.

Climate, according to definition given above states that, it is average condition of an area and mostly large areas, which takes place over a long period of time, could take more than ten years before changes occurs, that is, it does not change frequently, while weather is the atmosphere condition of an area, mostly small area, which involves only on short time, which means the even could last for days, maybe weeks or months but not long enough to last for years and its changes frequently.

Now what do we mean by Climate change, its simple to understand, having a basic knowledge of what climate is, climate change, in its simple form, can be said to be a change in weather condition, which occurs as a result of man action or sometime can be due to nature.

Climate changes also have its harmful effect which is one of the challenges facing most part of the world today, some of its effect affect the environment and also the economic of that region.

• Environmental Effect Climate is constituted with elements, such as wind , temperature, including rainfall and vice versa, however, if there is a change in climate such as -excess heat resulting as a result of increase in temperature, due to excessive burning, which trap heat into the air.

• Economic Effect change in climate such as increase in precipitation, can lead to flood which can damage crops(destruction of crops), heavy wind, which can destroy roads, houses and vice versa.

Global warming is what people mostly say especially in hot season, and of cause, it is quite true of what you heard about it, but should be known that, not all hot weather is global warming, for example, in the northern part of Nigeria, rainfall is rare and they experience heat, so does this mean global warming has taken place? The answer is no, here in a simple term, global warming is an increase in the level of temperature above the normal degree, caused by certain factors. There are several factors to be blamed for global warming, which include nature, but one and the most primary factor today is HUMAN ACTION

• Human action Human action, such as the normal activities man carries out, for example burning of fossil fuel, mostly carried out by companies, cutting off of trees,leads to deforestation, where trees releases carbon(iv)oxide, absorbed by trees, into the air which influences the climatic condition of the earth.

Climate change also have impact on the agriculture, agriculture activities carried out depends solely on land and water. Therefore change in climate may have positive and negative effect agriculture

• Positive effect when there is a change in climate, in cases of temperature, precipitation and vice versa, this would increase the length of growing condition and thereby allow different agric produce to be grown in that area, while in some, maybe the inverse.

• Negative effect like I have written down earlier, climate change brings about increase in precipitation, which leads to flood, this can cause destruction of crops, as flood will wash the crops and also may wash away the surface of the soil, including its nutrients underneath.

Climate change is something that has no permanent solution to it, though one of the major factors is human activities, and with this, something can be done to reduce its negative effect, today I am using the steemit platform as a voice, to tell people about the dangerous effect of climate change, and on how to prepare, to reduce its effect and make it minimal, note, we cannot control the effect of climate, but we can control our activities, that causes climate change. One of the major things i would do is to avoid cutting down of trees and plant more trees, avoid burning of coal and vice versa.
