Explain the harmful effects of climate change.

Firstly let's start with the definition of climate. Climate can be defined as the average weather condition of a place at a particular period of time,year or season.

Here are the harmful effects of climate change in the environment and the world at large.

  • climate change can lead to global warming: this is the situation where the atmosphere becomes warm due to rise in temperature as a result of the accumulation of harmful gasses in the atmosphere.

  • climate change can cause a natural disasters such as drought, volcanic eruptions and many more: Drought can be seen as the lack of rainfall in a particular area or state for a lack period of time.

  • Another harmful effects of climate change is that it can lead to hurricane: Hurricane are storms the moves in a high wind velocity. This Strom moves towards a large area and can cause great damage to lives and properties.

What factors would you blame for global warming?

The factors that should be blamed for global warming are;

  • Rise in temperature:

Temperature can be referred to as the degree of hotness or coldness of a place or a body at a particular period of time.

Therefore the rise in temperature is know said to the process by the atmosphere or body becomes too hot leading to the accumulation of harmful gasses in the atmosphere causing what know call global warming.

Discuss the impact of climate change on agriculture.

Based on the impact of climate change on agriculture i can say that it's impacts are;

  • Rainfall
  • Temperature
  • Wind
  • Sunlight/sunshine
  1. Rainfall: Rainfall is defined as the release of excess condensed water vapour in the atmosphere into the air.

WAYS RAINFALL AFFECT AGRICULTURE

(i) It increases the incidence of erosion or flodding.

(ii) It encourages faster growth of weeds.

(iii) Insufficient rainfall causes crop failure and poor production.

  1. Temperature: Temperature can be defined as the degree of hotness or coldness of a place at a particular period of time.

WAYS TEMPERATURE AFFECT AGRICULTURE

(i) Temperature is necessary for the germination of seeds.

(ii) High temperature reduces the performance of live stock.

(iii) Too hot or too cold temperature does not favour plants and animal growth.

  1. Wind: Wind is defined as air in motion.

WAYS WIND AFFECT AGRICULTURE

(i) high wind velocity can cause wind erosion.

(ii) It aids seed and fruit dispersal.

(iii) Wind aid pollination and spread of diseases.

  1. Sunlight/sunshine: Sunshine is the amount of heat or the period of sun raise received at a place.

WAYS SUNLIGHT AFFECT AGRICULTURE

(i) Sunlight is necessary for photosynthesis.

(ii) It affect the production of crops due to the length of days.

What do you do to protect against the ill effects of climate change?

I will advise that we make use of preventive measures and learn to adapt to climate change.

I will love to invite @ahmneska and @anthony002 to participate in this contest.
