PREPARATION OF GARRI

garri is made out of cassava. it is known as best African food especially to Nigerians, both the poor and the rich eat garri. It is best in soaking with water and drinking with grandnut or coconut during hot weather.it is very expensive in other countries.
Cassava is been used for many nigerian food such as fufu, abacha (tapioca) garri etc. and all of the things made out from cassava has it's own procedure. today, i will be talking about the procedure of making garri.

Pilling process

Garri has two colors and that is how expensive it is when it comes to sells. we have white garri and oil garri. oil garri is been is being achieved during the process of frying or after grinding then you sprinkle the oil and mix together.

cassava serves as food to both human and animals. in the farm where cassava is been planted, animals like grass cutter etc come to dig ground in search of cassava, and when it is been harvested the cassava pills serves as protein and calcium to goat. it also serve as manure to plants like plantain and other plants but it is not directly poured on the root of the plantain because it takes like 4days to decay. when poured directly to plants it attracts termite.

garri preparation -step 1
after harvesting cassava from your farm, you start by pilling off the cassava leaving the white substance for grinding.

step 2
gather all the pills and put in a bag, for goat. then was all the cassava carefully to remove sand and dirt.

step 3
grind in engine and after grinding, it is now left for you to decide whether you will be needing white garri or oil garri. if it is oil garri you will have to add little red oil and turn it with your hands before putting the garri in a bag, but if you need it white you directly after grinding and put in a bag then press with garri engine or big stick.

step 4
after 2days you pressed the garri with engine, you filter it and start frying. note, you will continuously follow the garri up to press it within this 2days for the water to dry. then your garri is ready and you can eat with any soup.

Conclusion
it is necessary for every home to learn how to prepare garri, it helps the family in terms of needing what to eat. you can soak with sugar and drink. if learning it is not for fun it will be for good.
